New to the Area

Afternoon one and all. I've recently moved here to South Carolina from New Jersey and miss all my friends who had WLS. I worked at a hospital in New Jersey and there were several people there who had WLS. We had our own private support group any time we really needed it. Now I work at a hospital here in South Carolina and don't know a sole who's had WLS. I was hoping that I could tag along with you guys and we could all support each other as needed. I had GBS on January 4, 2005. I have lost a total of 82 lbs. I went from 272 to 190 lbs. Slow going. I need to regroup myself and start back onto the proper nutrition. I graze way too much. Hi Kim!!! Welcome to the SC board. Where are you in SC? I am in the upstate. We have several groups through out the state. If you are in the area you are more than welcome to meet with us tonight at Atlanta Bread Co. in Greenville!!! Hopefully, there is a group in your area!!!! Melissa

Hi Kim I am in Charleston. If you are in my area we have a group called the LCBB and you are more than welcome at our support group. MUSC also has a support group on the 3rd Thursday of every month as well. There is also a planned trip at the end of March to Myrtle Beach for all of us to get together. Welcome to SC and I hope you find the suport you need. The people here are great! Julie

Hi Kim I am from Summerville near Charleston and we have a great group of people with WLS That meet every Thursday. I am sure you wil enjoy the sopport this web site gives you and if anytime you would like to join us at our meetings you are welcome to come. It is very informal and we have fun. I am living in a home we built in Myrtle Beach and work at Georgetown Memorial Hospital, Georgetown of course. It is nice to know that I am not alone here, I look forward to keeping up with all of you, as I feel this is an important decision we have chosen. Have a wonderful day!
