Pre-Op plastic appointment

I went yesterday for my pre - op appointment with Dr Harvey. It was really good. I am so impressed with his office. They went over in detail what they would do with my surgery, what to expect and what to bring with me. Dr. Harvey told me to make sure that I bring a supportive sports bra that fits me now and he will put it on me right after surgery. This stays on for a week. There was such a difference between this visit and the one with my other Dr. They gave me a list of post op instructions, told me what to buy and even gave me all of the prescriptions that I will need so that I can have them at home for after my surgery. They even told me that Dr. Harvey's nurse will be at the hospital Friday morning early to discharge me so that I should be home by 10 am. I go in March 1 at 9:30, surgery is at 11:30. Kelly's surgery is at 8 am. We have plans to knit and watch Grey's Anatomy that night if anyone wants to join us at East Cooper Hospital. I am going to go down to a heavy C cup. I told Dr Harvey that I knew that they would be smaller but would they be less saggy. He laughed at me and said that they would be headed north again, it just part of his procedure (the other Dr was going to make me pay extra for a lift also). Here is the funny part. When I asked the nurse about whether or not I would have drains, she said that they don't use them as much anymore. Then she said "I don't know Mary, you've got a whole lot of boobies, you might need them." I told her that all of my WLS friends want my extras. She said for y'all just to give her a call. Sorry for the long post, but I'm getting excited Mary

thanks, definately not in our budget either but I really do have back issues because of all of the weight on top. My shoulder curve forwards all of the time and I have aches. I work for the state so my insurance is paying for it. I was surprised, they approved it in just a few hours. But my pictures were just AWFUL looking, plus I have had documented and treated back stuff for about a year. I have always been top heavy so I can't wait to feel proportionant. Thanks for the prayers, you are such an inspirational lady. When I am feeling down I read your posts and your spiritualness reminds me of what is truly important Mary

Mary...after I read the last post ofyours I remembered that you were getting the reduction due to back pain. My younger sister had that done last year and her insurance covered it also due to her bad back and the horrible marks from her bra straps. She said she wished she would have done it sooner. I am happy for you and know it will relieve the pain and make you feel good about yourself. Thanks..I pray I can always inspire others....but I have my days too. In Him Who Keeps Me, Joan

I am so happy for you. I remember getting mine done, it felt so much better. I felt like I wasn't being smuthered, and the pressure off of my back and shoulders was such a relief. When I came out of surgery, they had a sports type of bra that snapped up the front on me. I wanted to keep that thing on me at all times. I felt like if it came of, all of my insides would come out. I know, I'm kinda stupid like that sometimes. But all in all, it is such a blessing. Sometimes, when I am at home, I even go braless. That was never even in the question before the reduction. Having sunny side up eggs now are cool. Good luck Mary. I know you are going to do good. Deb

Deb, first of all how are you feeling? I'm so happy that the surgery is behind you. I'm going to tomorrow night so I will see you if you are up to it. Don't overdo it. How long did it take you to recover from the reduction. My job is sitting at a desk all day, but I'm worried about hurting. I just can't imagine what it will be like Mary

WOO HOO!!!! I am so excited for you. Congrats. I can not wait to start that part of this journey. I realized the other day that I am now B/C cup and I want that boob job NOW. I am not use to the twins being so small or low. I was in shock for hours. I wish you luck and my positive thoughts and prayers are being sent your way. You will do great! Hugs Julie
