Hello from Germany Gals!

hi all! Well, i am so happy I had this surgery. I am 10 mths (44 wks) post op and to date, and lost 130 lbs! It feels great! A happy dance for sure! We're in Germany hopefully until April, and then we'll "move" somewhere..who knows where.. But, just wanted to let you know I won't ever forget you ladies..and I promise to keep in touch......

Dear Sweet Heather...you are so missed by this site. I am so happy for you and your success with the WLS. Have you updated your profile? Is it harder or easier there in Germany to stay on the plan? Everyone, thanks so much for the kind and welcoming greetings back to me.. I am liking Germany...Overall, we're just LOVING the chance to travel ( we've been to Austria, Switzerland, Lichenstein, Ireland and Italy just since I've been back here the last 2 months...! I just completed a 6 wk phrase German class to help with me stumble through conversations with the local Germans. Regarding following my WLS health plan, it has been just fine. Due to our travels, it hasn't been until just this week that I've been able to get formal exercise, but the gym here is fantastic, and better---F R E E ! And meeting people, yes..I have many wonderful friends, but particularly in WLS, i've met in person 2 gals who are post op, and in Sept.I'm going to meet another girl for lunch who is post op..So i'm feeling I'm getting support too! Life is grand and God is so good...

Heather, Where in Germany are you? We lived there for 3 yrs in Ramstein. I LOVED IT!!! I am jealous of you!!! We just moved to California last month, and unfortunately I can't say its only 3 yrs here, and then back home, as my hubby retired and it looks like we may be here for a long time if not forever. So far I like it here, but am not liking the traffic. Have a great time, and drink some wine (if you can stomach it) for me!! Tuschte!! AufWeidisen!! Deborah

hey Deb. We live in Wiesbaden ( 20 min from Frankfurt, 1 hour from Ramstein). Not far at all..We drive to Ramstein sometimes just to eat at the Chili's restaurant they have there on base... In fact, I just bought my first bottle of red wine this past Sunday.....It is quite yummy. Where in CA are you? I've never been, but we PRAY we get our top choice for our next base ( Ft. Carson, Colorado Springs Colorado...)
