Hey ladies! Has anyone seen Celebrity Fitness on VH1, yet. Carnie Wilson is on it!!!! I can't believe that. She was once a member of Wilson Philips and had her GB surgery on national TV, 7 years ago and she posed for Playboy too. She still looks good, but has gained a lot of weight back. She did have a baby too. I am only 3 months out and doing wonderful!!!! LOVING LIFE, BUT I am scared to death out gaining weight back. I am totally freaked out about that thought. I mean to have major surgery.....my guts rerouted......and to have the thought of gaining back weight is terrifying to me. Tine Yothers, is on there too and her mom had GB surgery 11 years ago and has gained all her weight back plus some. I mean life is so great right now and to just think that it could change, relly is bothersome. I know that GB surgery is just a tool and it is up to us to use the tool properly, but the thought is still in the back of my mind. Anyone else think about that? Chell

Good Morning Chell That thought is always in the back of my mind. You are not alone. It scares me also. But fear can be a wonderful tool as well. We know this is a possibility, so I know I am going to do everything in my power not to let the weight come back on. I am sure you are in the same mind set. Just keep your eye on the goal, a healthy lifestyle. That is what I keep my eye on. You are doing great! Keep up the good work! Julie

Yep, they talk a lot at the hospital support group about grazing and how it will affect your weight loss. As you get further out and start feeling hunger again, you can "cheat" your pouch by eating a little bit 3 or 4 times an hour every hour and the calories will add up. OH magazine has an article on this about setting regular meal times and scheduling snacks. I mean...face it....we are still on a "diet" and will be for the rest of our lives. It's just like we have always heard...we are making lifestyle changes!!! If we always do, what we always did.....we will always get, what we always got!!! We can't go back to the old ways!!! Ok...I'm off my soapbox!! (talking to myself, too!!!) Hugs, Dianne

This surgery is surely just a TOOL our food addiction does not go away just because the size of our stomach has shrunk alot of folks seek counseling with the food addiction issue it is not hard to regain if we dont take control of our eating habits and exersise i had tons of complications so could not excersise in and out of hospital 15 times so a little weight has come back so back on track i go . My sons aunt had this surgery a few yrs before i did and is almost 300 lbs again so unless we stay commited the lbs will creep back.
