CONSTIPATION ...UGGGGH !
I'm only having a bowel movement every two to three days.
Even then it doesn't seem to be what it should.
How often is appropriate?
Could I be constipated?
I'm still not getting in as much liquid as I should but I try.
I'm not dehydrated...Thank goodness.
I feel like I need to go but nothing happens. I think I've probably
been afraid to strain any at all because I was done "open" and
it still hurts when I try. It hurts when I strain to pass gas.

OK, just let me say "BENEFIBER"!!! Benefiber was my best friend until I got on solid foods. They have the powder...You can add that too whatever you drink...it tasteless. Then they have chewable tablets. I haven't tried those, but I've heard they're good too. It will really help with any constipation

Hey there
I have the same issue. Mine is very hard and dry too...so it hurts when I go. Last night I finally gave in and too a Correctol (Walmart brand) and it has already helped some. The dosage was 1 - 3 pills so I took only 1 and it has helped some.
I have never been so greatful to feel the need to go!!!

Oh Suuz, it is SO not fun, is it?? Going every two to three days is normal, but having to strain to go, and it hurting and feeling like it is right there but won't budge is definitely constipation. I am really struggling with it, and last week, I was so badly constipated that my whole body hurt the next day from the straining! Not good. So, I find that if I use Smooth Move tea or Milk of Mag (just half a dose) every other day, everything moves along just fine. Definitely not going through that again! Trying to go when I am badly constipated is like trying to give birth!

Yipppeeeeee !
Finally got the ole bowels moving !
It took a combination of enema, colace, & ducalax suppositories
but it worked! I'm gonna take colace at least once a day from now on. What confuses me is that fact that most of the things that had a problem coming out were foods that should've made me go.
Like: pureed collards, applesauce, baby 1st foods prunes, prune juice, .....Geez I must've been badly stopped up cos those things should've kept me moving. The knot in my stomach is gone and the pain I was having in my belly is gone. Thank God...I was almost ready to go to emergency.
Wow I just didn't take everyone as serious as I should have about not letting myself become constipated.
I've always learned everything the hard way...Guess now is no exception.
