Dumb people
Oy.
((((( Rachel ))))))) You are soooooo lucky to have such a good man by your side! My brother and sister-in-law (husband's brother) tried their best to talk me out of surgery ... saying I was gonna gain it all back anyway, all I have to do is eat less and exercise more, blah, blah, blah-de-freakin'-blah. They are both normal sized folks and don't have a clue about how it feels to be obese in society. (or how it feels to be obese in my skin!!!)
We just have to tune these ignorant ones OUT. They haven't done the research we've done, they don't have the education on the subject that we have, and most importantly, they've never battled the weight like we have.
There actually is a man out there (NY I think?) who has lost weight by following, what he calls, a gastric bypass diet without the surgery. I personally think he's NUTS, but he has lost weight. He has a blog:
http://almostgastricbypass.blogspot.com/
In my opinion, his diet is a lot more boring than the typical WLS patient! He has lost some weight, but he's also suffered a lot, too ... hunger, headaches, dizziness, fatigue, etc.
Anyway, thank GOD for your sweet husband. He's a sweetheart to be so vocal with his support.

Wow, looks like you are getting some of the same dumb azz people making negative comments about the surgery like I have been getting. Funny how it usually seems to be the skinny ones making them though. Wednesday, one of the nurses on my floor was asking me about the surgery, she automatically made the statement,"I'll be fat for the rest of my life before I go through something like that", funny thing is, 20 minutes later she was asking me where the Bariactrics Solution building is and what do you have to do to get started, lol. She didn't have a clue as to what it is all about and I talked to her about it and told her about some of the girls at our meeting Monday night, boy what a turn around she made, now I won't be a bit surprised if she shows up at BS one day soon. Another nurse said she would love to go with her and see what it is all about, it's amazing how just a little information can make a difference in a persons opinion. Just don't let these negative comments affect you, I have made up my mind that if I don't do this soon, then I won't be around to see my grandkids grow up. I'm so sick and tired of being sick and tired and FAT! I'm starting to feel the effects of my weight more and more and it's not good. My feet kill me,my back is getting worse, I'm huffing and puffing just tying my shoes, and it's getting harder just to do the everyday things I'm use to doing.
Anyway, enough of this before I run out of room, lol! Take care and see you Monday night.
Hugs!
