Dumb people

Dumb people really get on my nerves!! My husband came home last night after playing tennis with his "friends" very upset. He finally told me why after I begged him. He was telling them about me having surgery and the "wife" said "well, my husband said, he would watch ever bite of food that I put in my mouth, before he ever let me have that surgery!!!" They went on about how I could just "eat" like I had the bypass and not really have the surgery. For instance, take 2 weeks of liquids, 2 weeks of full liquids, 2 weeks of soft foods, etc. Then just eat 4 ounces 6 times a day. It really ticked my husband off. He was livid!! He told them that they had no idea how difficult this was going to be on me. He really didn't know how to tell them about the surgery and the malabsorbtion factor but he did tell them that he USED to think that the reason I was overweight because I would eat too much and never exercise BUT, after watching me work my butt off at the gym for months only to lose 4 lbs, he realized there was more of a problem. He was so sweet when he was telling me. It was nice to see that he really believes in this surgery like I do. He also said that he was proud of me for doing this. This made me cry. It was so wonderful to hear him say this. Thanks for listening to me. I just needed to vent because this lady really bothered me but then I just realized that she has never been in this situation. She has always been a "know it all" when it comes to diet and exercise (well she is a know it all for everything). I used to work out with her at the gym until I couldn't take it anymore. Now, we barely speak. She and her husband still play tennis with my husband but I never participate anymore. I sorta think that she feels threatened by the fact that I may lose weight. Then, she won't be "better" than me!!! Ok. Now I'll shut up!!! Rachel

Rachel People who are not morbidly obese just don't understand what it is like to be MO. They don't understand that when you have 100+ pound to loss it takes help. They are trying to give advice on something that they know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about. They do not realize that lossing 100 pound is much different from lossing 20 or even 30 pounds. It is just ignorance on their part. That is like me trying to tell my husband how to design a machine. He would be foolish to take anything that I said seriously!! This is why we have each other. Sometimes you just have to live it to understand it!!! Melissa

Now I'm PO'd too! Tell that woman why doesn't she try living on the gastric bypass diet for a month minimum and see if she can survive. If it was so freakin easy I think most of us would rather have done that than to have our insides rearranged. Only the uneducated and uninformed people think this is easy. She has just proven how much she really doesn't know by making that comment. This is for you, your husband and your future family. You are getting healthy in a way that was recommended to you by MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS, not by some bimbo who plays tennis with your husband. Sometimes you just have to step back and feel sorry for those people because they really don't know any better. You want me to come kick her arse? I will you know. This surgery saved my LIFE and has given me the chance to see my daughter through adulthood and the chance to know my grandchildren. Next time you or your hubby sees her tell her to come see me. I won't let her talk any of that nonsense. I will cut her! I have no problem going to jail... Kathy

I was gonna wait to see if she would take us up on the Gastric bypass diet. Then I would wait until she was trying the clear liquids stage so she would be too weak to fight back! Then she could tell the cops that some "thin, healthy, energetic, and fabulous gastric bypass patients" came by and whooped her butt for being dumb. Besides, what we lose in size, we make up for with speed and agility! Kathy
