Sorry i've been MIA

Just want to say hello and let you know that i'm still alive!!..you are all doing soooo well it's just wonderful to see! I've been going through some bouts of depression and i tend to hide out when that goes on.. It's hard to pull myself out of it but i'm really trying.. one day i feel ok and i seem fine .. the next.. oh man not so pretty! I haven't forgotten about you upstate ladies the meetting i went to was great.. i do plan on going again.. maybe next Monday.. I have a date for my hernia repair it will be with Dr. Shriver in Easley after all and that will be on the 16th of this month. I will be in the hospital for one night maybe two because he will remove extra skin and tighten some muscle for me so that's a good thing. hope to see you all soon love Dar

Hi Darquise! Soooo good to see you here today!!! I'm so sorry you've been suffering with depression ... I understand how hard it can be to "get out and be normal" when those dark time**** you. I've hid away for months at a time before ... literally can't get out of bed when it's really bad. Even though I'm learning that being with others who like me for who I am is some of the BEST medicine, it's still sometimes a struggle to get myself out the door. I do understand. Dawn .. Thank you so much for your support, it does feel nice to know you understand. I've been putting off going on meds of any kind just hoping i will get through this without them, or at least till after surgery. Again thanks sweety, your hugs mean a lot to me! The meds can be tricky ... finding one that works can take a while. But when one works, they say it can be like a miracle. (I've had some good results lately from Lexapro.) Thanks for asking, Darquise ... I'm feeling pretty darn good! For a month now! I've had no problems since July 2nd, although my weight loss seems to have slowed down a bit over the last 3 weeks. I'm trying to get in as much protein as I can, and I've FINALLY started walking on my treadmill. I see the Dr. tomorrow, and I'm pretty sure he will order another Upper GI test at the hospital to check on the gastrogastric fistula situation. Cross your fingers that it's GONE!
