I am in a big stall and have been working on losing the same 5 pounds for a long time. I weigh 178, I desperately want to lose 9 pounds by Aug. 3 (when I go see Dr B) I have found that the old habits have been trying to creep back, I can snack, I can eat more. Please help me get back to six small meals, protein and veggies, and all of my water. Yes, I'm afraid I need all the encouragement that I can get. I got a nerve block Friday that really helped my back, so I have no excuse now for not exercising. Thanks in advance, Mary

Maybe its time to get back to the basics of measuring and logging everything you eat. Even this early out I find myself slacking on the rules. Then the loss slows. Once I start writing everything down and measuring my food, I get a little more of an idea of why that is happening and I am more likely to make smarter choices. Add 30 minutes a day of walking and TA-DA! The weight will probably start to come off again. You've done great so far. Don't let the old demons ruin it. Kathy

thanks so much. I followed all advice except the walking. Excuses Excuses, but I had to finish homework for a class I'm taking. That's my goal for the night. Mary

Definitely journalling the food and exercise. When you have to honestly write it down, you are more apt to stick to the program. Good Luck. You can do it.

Well I'm still struggling to lose these last few lbs at almost 3 years out, so I know what you mean. I had to recently postpone my 6th round of plastics to lose some add'l weight, so last week I really focused cause my surgery is coming up on 8/31. I find that works for me is not snacking between meals, ensuring that I drink lots of water and not eating past 6-7 at night. I lost 7 lbs last week... (167.5 to 160.5) woo hoo I'm just trying to get down to around 150.

Hi Girl! First of all, I'm sending you BIG HUGS!!!!! I'm so glad your back is feeling better. That will be a big help. When I am in a lot of pain from fibromyalgia and can't move as much, I sit there and worry about eating too much, so I eat. When I'm active, I don't even think about eating. It dumbfounds me that some days I can seem to eat a huge amount and other days, just a few bites. There is no rhyme nor reason to the type of food it is. I have tried and tried to figure it out, so it won't happen. But, on the days I can eat a lot, I fill up on salad with some protein on it. I love it anyway, and I figure I can't go too wrong with that. We all have that same problem you're having, and we all need a little encouragement to jump back on track. You can do it!! That's what we're all here for - to help each other through the rough patches and celebrate our successes. #! Rule: DO NOT BEAT YOURSELF UP!! It hurts and you don't deserve it. Don't be mad at yourself because you slipped a few times, right along with the rest of us. Be proud of yourself for the good choices you've made. Just start tomorrow and do better. I was so glad to see you at LCBB a few weeks back. You look absolutely wonderful! I have those stall problems too. I was bummed because some new medication made me gain 5 stubborn lbs, but I had pretty much accepted it. I just got back from a week in San Francisco, with all that walking up and down those hills and got on the scale.............I lost 7 lbs! And I'm 20 months out. So, if I can do it, you can too. Just look how far you've come. A few more pounds - shucks, that's just nuthin'. Just keep a bottle of water with you and eat to lose! Love you, B
