Possible Date?

Hi All, Could anyone familiar with MUSCs current scheduling give me an idea of when I might expect a surgery date assuming all goes well? I have my initial visit this Thursday and have Medicare so I wont need any insurance pre-certification. I have quite a few co-morbidities (sp?) but everything is under control (diabetes, high BP, etc.) so I am basically healthy enough for surgery so that shouldn't be a problem. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Michael

It seems like I'm the only one who ever responds to your posts so I will not break with tradition now. I actually had to call and ask Tarnicia to get me scheduled. I am NOT a patient person That was three weeks after my consult. They applied for approval after I had my date. It took less than 18 hours for my approval. I wrote Amanda an email this week to ask when I would get my pre-op scheduled and she wrote that Tarnicia would be calling to get it set up. Stephanie

At your consult meeting they told us within a week you would have a tentative surgery date mailed to you and at that time they were booked up for june and july. My original surgery date was Aug. 25th and I had my first consult june 1st. I did call and asked for a date in July since I am a teacher i didn't want to miss the beginning of school and Tarnisha said they had some more openings so now my surgery date is July 21, I was just blessed to get that date. I would expect probably a month between your first consult and the actual surgery.
