NEW TO SITE

HI gals i am new to the site and deprately want to have the surgery im 23 and engaged to a wonderful man but i am determined not to be a fat bride!!!!!!! He says im perfect to him lol. The only problem is my insurace doesnt kick in til oct. soes anyone know a surgen that will start me on the process of paperwork and such then when the insurance kicks in we could go to the next step???The wedding is sept 29 2007 for right now and dont want to post pone it. Also does anyone have an estimated guess of how much they lost in the first year??? Any help is greatly appreciated also yall can email me [email protected] Thanx Amanda

Hi Amanda I don't know any of the doctors in Columbia. Dr. Bour in Greenville did my surgery. As far as the weigh loss goes...evryone is different. I can tell you that I am not quite 3 months out and I have lost 62 pounds!! A lot depends on how much you need to loss and if you exercise...if you get in all your protein and water. Many factors to consider. I just wanted to say hi and welcome to the board!!!! You will get tons of support here. PS Did you live in Easley/ Powderville area and attend Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church? If not then you are the 2nd Amanda Davis I've met!!! Melissa

Hi Amanda I live near Pelion and my doctor is Dr. *****ett. I have met him once at a seminar and am going through the steps to have the surgery. You should go to palmettohealth.com to see when their next seminar is. They are free and VERY informative. Hope this helps. The seminars are either at Baptist hospital or the surgeon's office on Laurel Street. Keep us updated! Jodie

Riverside Surgical is a GREAT surgery center. I can vouch for the physicians and the office staff. Web site is www.scobesity.com. They really are very nice people. However, I know that in order for me to see the physician I had to have a referral from my PCP and insurance approval for the referral (not approval for the surgery). I think that is how most if not all insurance companies work. Unless you are will to be considered self-pay. Then you will have the whole issue of preexisting conditions. Look at your insurance policy and make sure you aren't messing up by starting the process before you are covered by them. --Kelly
