Topic: RE: Happy Saturday!! What's on your menu today?

Good morning! Thanks for starting Amy. I feel like posting here reinforces my goal to make good decisions.

Yesterday I was very good. I did have some maple kettle corn. But not too much. All my meals were well planned and very low carb. 157 minutes of exercise and 9379 steps. I have no idea how I did not notice I hadn't achieved my step goal. Grrr. All water, all day. I'm nearly finished with my book club book after hours of reading in the sunlight through the window. It's a tough book, but I think it's really well written and I am looking forward to book club to here the others perspectives.

Today is FUN day! My walk is done. Breakfast and lunch at home. Going to see Kimberly Akimbo at the Civic Center and then we'll wander somewhere for dinner. I'm craving pasta of all things. Maybe I can get Rog to split a pasta entree and a protein entree with me. We'll be home by 7 with a super nice day under our belt.

QoTD: Mostly texting these days. My son won't answer the phone to basically anyone. So if I need to actually speak to him, I send a text first saying Mom is calling. Answer your damn phone. But I love talking on the phone with my daughter. We have these long rambling often interrupted by kids and life conversations whenever she can squeeze one into her hectic life and it brings joy to my heart.

Bites today...

B: 2 eggs, 2 bacon slices

L: leftover porkchop and cold, fresh, salted tomatoes. Yum

D: TBD

Wine. The goal is to hold it to 2 glasses.

Peace!

I am a fan of texts too. I feel trapped on a phone conversation.

Good morning ~ I slept in until 6 this morning. It's so rare and I'm always surprised. My rash seemed to calm down some yesterday. Doc said it might be an allergic reaction to antibiotics. But after having a repeat of of the previous night and waking up scratching with itchy welts all over body again this morning - seemingly worse in all the places it wasn't yesterday - I just don't know. Running its course or something else? I'm so tired, I took 2 naps yesterday. I'm worried about this continuing into the work week where I'm traveling out of town for a conference and away from my doctors - how miserable. Today is up in the air. I just want it to calm down like yesterday - fingers crossed.

QOTD - Do you prefer calls or texts? I am a text girl all the way and honestly hate talking on the phone. I'm always surprised when people call me. Especially Rob! He is s texter too, so when he calls its always for a really important reason so I panic! My son calls all the time and honestly, I wish he would text more. I love him dearly, but I feel chained to a phone on a call, a text conversation is just easier. Luckily, work culture is more email and personal communication so I rarely get calls which is great.

Accountability - was spot on for food, nothing for exercise. Today I'm 168.4 and nothing but rest and sleep and nothing that will irritate my skin.

b- coffee, eggbeaters and cheese wrap

l - leftover jersey mikes, quest chips

d- grilled chicken and salad

s - watermelon, protein coke zero

Have a great day!

Good Morning !

Took a look at the terrace this morning and though an outsider would just see a mess - I?m proud because I?m almost finished with what I must plant this fall and before I leave for a ? dry month? in Florida.

Going to try to put an automatic watering system in here though (and on the Florida terraces too ) before I leave - necessitates a half day weekday trip out East to greenhouse supply so we?ll see.

I work so hard setting up the containers so they?re only rain dependent ( they proved my composting/ water holder/ mulch way works by surviving the six months I didn?****er this summer but it?s a heckuva lot of ? invisible ? hard work to set up and plant each one .

But not wasting food scraps and seeing the catz then plants make good use of them feels right

An automatic watering system supplement will just enable the garden to stay more floriferous and hugely cut down the daily work.

Finishing two large sunny trellised containers in order to be able to replace swing / daybed and two containerized trees needing planting now, as well as replanting man-high evergreens in ceramic pots w water holder ( they?re surprisingly vulnerable to wind n drought ).

Unpacking car ( the very last plants needed for this project before iris/ peony/ rose season next spring) and then ? HOLY COW ! ? I?m Done !!!

High time for much needed maxin n relaxin

Today or tomorrow need to go out East to cut hedges check on house collect rents etc but I?m so glad to be feeling a little bit in control- mebbe even a bit successful n proud .

The terrace really IS gorgeous when I clean up the negative space :) - an accomplishment.

Though it?s relatively small the vertical and functional design really makes it an outdoor living room complete w shaded dining area, TV , swing n rock in? chairs and even a heater so it can be used on chilly nights !

D last nite was bites of Caribbean ( lots of yummy collard greens ) and a tiny glass of leftover wine ( 2 cheap 2 thow it out ) but NO MORE!!

I had a good debate w myself regarding the ( dubious) ? benefits ? of nightly drankin? an extra 15 lbs around the middle , no energy or willingness for afternoon exercise .. grumpy in da mornin .

Been there done dat hopefully will indulge as little ) as possible ) more.

Oh and I found a prominent exhibition space for a few paintings ? hopefully they?ll accept them .

Need to order n install a luggage rack on the Tesla and take her in 4 service . Life !! How dare it intrude lol

B - pastry and tea latte. Maybe toasted bagel w lite cream cheese scallions n smoked wild salmon

S - egg roll insides w Chinese chicken breast . Planning to try making hot n sour egg drop soup.

L- maybe homemade ginger scallion lobster w long beans n eggplant in garlic sauce

S - Yemeni coffee latte w pastry

D - Greek salad w ff Greek dressing.

Walked 27 miles this week according to my watch - more than a marathon! Accountability - a Tates cookie last nite in bed - third ingredient is BUTTER!!! Some ( ff) candy in the morning. Bagel top w everything spice nibbled in car.

Friday-yay!

I'm getting back into the groove. Big things this week: I had an EMG for my arms. I got a blood clot before I left the exam room. I'm fine. I also got my totaled car released from the mechanic's storage. The axle is broken so it moved to the street, where it should be fine for the month. I chopped it up with the owner when I had it towed there. Even though storage is $195/day, he didn't charge me anything. As a thank you, I sent his crew and him 5 huge pizzas, a ton of candy, a couple cases of beer and coke. I love when normal conversations with strangers establish a bond. Rosh Hashanah family meal last night. Really nice time and great food.

Peace.
