What's on your Menu today (Thursday) RNYers?
hey all
Left work and went to yoga last night - it was a work week wind down class and it was soo good!! Very relaxing. came home and we had breakfast for dinner. day 2 of chicken sitting we had 4 eggs yesterday. yesterday i made hard boiled eggs, ate lots of them (whites only) and made gizzards also. OH my neighbor gave me a on of squash and zuchinni so last night I grated 1/2 a little one, mixed with 1 service egg white, spices and fried it in the pan, little zuch fritters. they were so good with the TJ's bagel spice on them. And so low in calories! im swimming in romaine and squash/zuchinni/cucumbers so will be eating these probably for the next 2 weeks along with eggs!
Accountability: scale down to 126.8 thank goodness it is moving downward... keeping on track. Lat night I had jello with a 1/4 serving of cottage cheese and 1 tbl of whipped topping. Then I decided that wasn't enough so I ate about 2 oz gizzards and a serving of pork rinds. My new motto is, it could have been way way worse and at least I ate protein and not carbs. Calories 911, 126 prot, 33 carb.
Today:
B: gizzards and egg whites
S: probably 2 oz bbq pork, veg
L: more meat/veg
D: I'm HOPEFULLY meeting up with I heart ravens after work so we will have sushi/grilled meats and veg!
Pictures if ya'll meet!!! Have fun! I can't wait for my chickens to start laying! I'm figuring the end of July/ beginning of August - Hopefully!

Morning guys!
So far no buggies - but the other little boy we played with at the same time got it last night and we're thinking the source was the camp the other two both attend. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we've skated past it! I got a call from my rheumatologist yesterday with the results of my MRI - it showed something called tenosynovitis which is inflammation of the sheath around the tendon where it attaches, and is one of the variable early symptoms of psoriatic arthritis - which is what we were concerned was going on . The upside is that there isn't any damage to the bone which is something PA can cause, and I read an article last night regarding WLS improving PA...so time will tell. My rheumatologist is fully aware that I'm going to be having an RNY and advised we wait until after I'm healed up to start treating it. It's nice to have an answer as to what the heck has been going on with my ankle at the very least.
Today is my pre-op appointment with my surgeon, I'm curious to see the little body comp ticker they print out...I want to see if my muscle mass has changed with the lifting I've been doing. I'm nervous and excited, 6 days left to go. My mom asked if I was ready and I told her I just want to be done so I can move forward.....I'm getting antsy!
Menu:
Lots of protein shakes today because I'm going to be out and about and my little cooler is handy! I was going to have eggs/cheese for dinner yesterday but my mother-in-law made some zucchini/squash/green pepper stuff (I guess like a crockpot ratatouille) so I had that with a protein shake for dinner, so maybe I'll do eggs/cheese tonight!
Have a great day guys!

Good luck with the PA. I suspect I have the symptoms of it also. I have psoriasis around some of my joints that are starting to ache. However, something is happening that I did not expect! Since my RNY on May 2, the psoriasis appears to be going away! I ony use a topical steroid for treatment. I am beyond pleased! Best of luck to you!
The article I read last night actually indicated that this happens. I've had psoriasis since the first grade, it would certainly be glorious to see it go, but time will tell! I also use a topical steroid for treatment if I have a flare-up :)

I was diagnosed with it in 2002 in my late 40's. I have it on my lower legs, knees, elbows and hands. Started with a small spot and blossomed over the years. I thought it was getting worse with age but I was also steadily gaining weight so now I'm wondering if it was the excess weight. Anyway, quite an unexpected pleasant surprise side effect for sure. It is almost gone from my legs and hands! Once I get a tan I'm thinking maybe a pair of shorts is in my future!
