Good Sunday morning!!

Soooo much cuteness yesterday. Rory's birthday party: as she opened her gifts she would say thank you to whom ever. If she didn't see you in the group, you got a "Thank you Buddy". And Cadence was the best tea cup in her recital's performance of "Beauty and the Beast"!!

Today will be organizing MEAT for the week.

8+ months post op

Menu

B: Coffee w/ premier vanilla ham and cheese rollups

L: shrimp

D: pulled pork w/hot sauce

Cal: 725 Prot: 91 Carb: 6

Edited to add QOTD:

I like to add spices and/or marinate. Not to much of a slow cooker. I add garlic and rosemary to chicken; Sherry, garlic, ginger, soy sauce and sm. amt. Splenda brown sugar to make homemade Teriyaki marinade for less tender cuts of beef; cumin, garlic, onion powder, chili spice (and/or cayenne if you want some heat) and oregano make a southwestern/Mexican taco spice for ground beef, chicken, turkey. Ken's lite Caesar salad dressing is also an excellent marinade for Chicken breasts cooked on the grill. A little goes a long way, lite version is salty to my taste. For Steak: rib eye or Sirloin strip I use a premade steak seasoning I buy at a local odd lot type store. I tried to copy it, but my version didn't cut it!!

Good morning, everyone!! Yesterday was busy with my sporty daughter with basketball in the morning and lacrosse in the evening. I still managed to get my 17,000 steps in. Yea, me!!

Today will be spent working in the yard and getting our pool chemicals in order. After countless trips to Leslie's Pool I think I have our water straightened out (I refuse to pay anyone to take care of our pool so I do it myself).

I also got milk paint yesterday and am going to paint a desk I got from a thrift store. I am so excited!! I love projects!!

QOTD: I don't cook so nothing to share here.

I am up 0.2 today. WTH?? I know I did everything right yesterday but these fluctuations still drive me crazy especially when I am trying to lose.

8.7 years out from RNY; 141.2; needing to lose 1.2 to get to my goal weight

My goals today: under 1500 calories; at least 17,000 steps; vitamins; water;

I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!!

Morning RNY'ers!! Happy Sunday!

Ive been on my run, showered and dressed. Currently eating breakfast. My dining room chairs just got delivered-- now they just need to exchange the table top. Today I'm determined to find a console table for my dining room. I don't want my new table getting cluttered as the old one did.

Qotd: I don't do recipes- I just cook. I season meats based in what I have in the cabinet.

working today - boo hiss. I'm working next weekend as well - but after that, no more weekend shifts for the rest of the summer! YAY!!!

I bought a new swimsuit and pool shoes yesterday, finally. I still need to get some summer tops, though. The ones I bought last summer are all way too big. I need at least elbow-length to cover my batwing arms, and they're not always easy to find...

QOTD: I cook a lot, but all the meat-centric dishes I make would have too many carbs for AMAW/CAMAW (sauces, veggies mixed in with things like stews and stir fries, etc). I rarely just eat a slab of meat with nothing on it, so I'm not of much help with this one....

2 years out (maintenance):

B: homemade Greek yogurt, flaxseed, raspberries

S: coffee with half & half, vanilla cantaloupe protein shake

L: 1 C cottage cheese, strawberry/rhubarb salad

D: carnitas with lettuce, tomato, and plain Greek yogurt in a Flat Out wrap. 1/4 fried plantain if I can afford the calories (leftover from my lunch at the taqueria last week - they are magnificent -but very calorie-dense!)

probably won't have any calories left for an evening snack since I put an extra tablespoon of flaxseed in my morning yogurt and two tablespoons of pureed avocado in my protein shake to keep me satiated all day long (won't get home from wor****il after 7:00 - and I don't want to overdo it at dinner!)

Good morning everyone

Yesterday was a washout, literally,. I didn't get in as much walking as I wanted to. Too much heavy rain.

My menu for today

breakfast - boiled egg

snack - fuzzy navel protein shake

lunch - left over turkey chili made with ground turkey, bell pepper, celery, tomatoes, onion, garlic, and spices,

Snack - Granny Smith apple with almond butter

dinner - going to a luau to play with my ukulele group so I'll make the best choices I can.

QOTD - I also don't have a recipe. I usually just cook. For meats I season with whatever I fancy that day, brown in oven safe pan on both side then finish in the oven or slow cooker. For fish I season with salt, pepper or a seasoning blend then pan saute with a little lemon and butter. Small amount of butter but I use the real thing.

I am trying to eat clean so no artificial anything and no processed food. I can do this because I only cook for myself. My husband does his own thing most of the time. I am eating all the organic I can find. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Walmart has a line of organic spices. They are only a little more expensive than non-organic and a lot cheaper that health food stores. My nutritionist said I may have a food intolerance so I am trying to eat as "pure" as I can. I go to TOPS to keep me accountable and our meeting is Tuesday mornings. I think I'll be down a couple of pounds this week.

Hi everyone,

i got ont the scale today and it was not my friend at all! I'm up 4 lbs!!! I'm guessing that it's water weight. Last week I several meetings that I was sitting for hours at a time and when that happens I tend to retain a lot of water in my legs and feet. I think my body is still readjusting from having that real bad stomach bug as well. Hopefully starting the CAMAW will jump start things for me.

B: 2eggs, 2strips bacon, 1 slice cheese

The rest of the day is up in the air but it will be protein

Enjoy the rest of your day everybody!!
