What's on your Menu today (Wednesday) RNYers?
You had to bring the Nutella into play, didn't you?
Pretzels/nutella and coffee...

Morning! Busy couple of days, I ended up taking off yesterday afternoon to do some Real Estate stuff and meet the Vet at the house so the 4 equines could get their Coggins tests. What is a Coggins test? Well my son asked me that yesterday, and I'm like "I honestly have no idea"... but I equated it to an AIDS test which was probably not the best answer... but all I know is you have to have one on your possession if you take your horse anywhere... and whatever the 'disease' is, it's easily contracted between horses... gawd, I'm not the best horse owner!
QOTD: Emergency Disaster Kit? This is something I am always thinking about. Living in Tornado Alley, you'd think our storm shelter would be full of waterproof containers holding our important papers, water, food, flashlights, and batteries, right? Well not ours... it's full of musty smells, cobwebs, dead crickets, and last time we were down there (at 2am mind you), there was a dehydrated dead toad. I have bets that he's still there. SMH
Weight this morning 143.0 12 months out. Still working on a stretch goal of 135
B: 20 ounces of decaf with half and half and Splenda
B2: Grilled chicken leg leftover (and I ate it right from the bone... sitting here at my desk... with white pants on!)
L: Meaty baked ricotta 3.5 ounces
D: leftover chicken - there are two kinds to choose from! and leftover grilled cauliflower from last night.
S: Fairlife latte (2ounces of Fairlife) SF syrup AND NO WHIPPED CREAM IN OVER TWO WEEKS NOW! Go Me!

I'm with you on the Equine owner/Coggins test. It always seemed a bit sketchy to me... thankfully I've never had one come back positive! We had some sort of goat pox on our farm, all the does got it, but when they were tested for all the scary goat stuff they were clean. It cleared up after a few months but it sure makes you aware of how quickly a virus can get around! Our horse, singular now :( and our goats are all outdoors 24/7 with several shelters available for them and lots of pasture. I think this keeps them pretty healthy. We think that the buck we leased for them was the entry point for that pox. We had him on our farm for a month and he did his job well :)
What kind of horses do you have? The pony I kept on the farm (where I no longer live) is a Haflinger/Welsh cross and he is a GREAT pulled of firewood logs, farm implements and a cart :) Up until the last ten years we had Arabians for trail riding and a *****oteague pony for a pasture decoration!

Hello Daisy, sorry about your rough start today! I came into work and realized I left my cell at home. I am at a new job so I don't have any personal addresses in my company email yet, and this organization blocks access to Gmail. It's sooo weird to feel this cut off when it just shouldn't matter!
QOTD- I'm living in three different places right now, but yes, I have most of what is needed to survive a month or two without any functional infrastructure. I have canned foods, filtration straws (for camping), solar charging stations, a short wave radio that runs on a crank generator, medications and vitamins, snares (hey, you might not think you'd eat a squirrel but you just wait till you haven't had protein for a day or two then think about it!), propane tanks and burners, signal flares, and other misc items like a misquito netted hammock, extra canning rings and a pressure cooker that I can heat with the propane, water proof matches, guns and ammo (for hunting not so much self defense), fishing equipment, and a solid knowledge of the local eatable flora :) As far as real life events, I think it makes sense to be able to live off supplies for a week or so in case of some significant local event. I'm not convinced that the end times are coming but stuff does happen all over the globe so a little prep doesn't hurt. I'd be fine from March to November - but if there was something in the middle of the winter I might not last through it on my own.

I'm down just one pound again this week (work weigh ins are on Wednesdays). I am frustrated because I was able to lose a pound a week prior to surgery with less of a calorie restriction. I don't think my exercise could account for enough muscle gain to off set the lack of a loss. The one MAJOR issue I'm having is getting in my water - do you think that could really make this much of a difference?
M1 - 15 lbs lost
M2 - looks like it will be close to 10 lbs lost
Why did I do this? Granted it makes it EASY to follow the low calorie/ low volume diet plan, but those monthly drops mirror the ones I had from the last time I just followed a 1200 calorie diet. Now I'm eating 30% less than that, and destined to continue at this ultra low calorie lifestyle for life... And in case anyone is wondering, I haven't had so much as a sip of alcohol this past week.
[EDIT] I'm also adding a 6 mile walk into my evening by meeting my family at my parents for the pizza party, I'll walk there with the dog and if he's willing, walk back home afterwards. I don't subtract my exercise calories from my totals but I think that they have to help! I've managed to get 100 minutes of exercise in every day for the past ten days :)
Frustrated

Cut the carbs. Most successful people stay under 25g/day while losing weight, and pizza would NEVER be on the menu, even if spread out over two meals.

Yeah yeah you're right. I revamped today's menu to exclude the pizza crust. I realize that I'm still picking and choosing the medical advice I'm getting from my Bariatric program. I've been convinced by the folks here on the RNY menu thread, that the 1000 calorie target is wrong, and I target my MFP setting to 500 with the pragmatic goal of a 650 average per week. But I was still allowing a higher carb number per their instructions. The changes above have dropped my carbs down to 29, sugar down to 9...
I'm going to start entering the calories from my supplements to see if that adds an extra chunk of calories to my daily intake.

I totally see where your coming from on the surgery thing. I lost 85 pounds on my own prior to surgery eating between 900 - 1000 calories a day...high protein, low carb. I averaged .51 pounds a day during that 6 months. I had surgery March 13 and from then until May 13 (2 months) I averaged .56 pounds a day. From May 14 until today my average loss per day is only .2 pounds. I have been eating between 600 - 700 calories a day since I have been on solid food. I have also been watching carbs and have averaged 22.3 carbs a day since March 14th. I would have thought I would be losing more with 300 - 350 calories a day less.
Let me say that I am in no way sorry that I had surgery. I have been able to lose weight on my own many, many times...but I have never been able to keep it off. With surgery I will keep it off this time..with the help of my tool and of course my hard work and diligence. I know it will not be easy...but I know I can do it this time. My head is ready this time.
