Good Morning Daisy and Menu Family!
QOTD: Nope, we don't have one, either. We have some of the things needed for an emergency kit, but like everyone else, they are scattered throughout the house. Making a disaster kit is a good idea, Daisy. Thanks for bringing the idea up to us. Sounds like we all could think about doing it.

Morning all. I'm very unhappy this morning...I think Im passing, or trying to pass, a kidney stone. :( I hate this! Pain isn't too bad yet. Going to work on chugging lemon water and hoping it passes. Boo.
Anyway. Emergency kits. We are actually working on that. I've been collecting jugs of water. We have a well with an electric pump, so that's the most urgent need. I ordered a bunch of headlamps after I saw this thing on making a "lantern" from a jug of water and a headlamp. I thought that would be very nice to have in the kids rooms and bathroom, because no fire! I néed to buy some lanterns for the living room and kitchen. We want to get a generator. Anyway!
food today-
breakfast- Italian turkey sausage with greens
lunch- leftover chicken and mashed cauliflower from last night
snack- leftover bacon egg avocado salad
dinner- sticky Korean chicken and stir fry veg.

Happy Wednesday! Had a great evening playing Ticket to Ride with my kids last night until midnight. There was more snacking than I would have liked but no smoking. I will take that as a win.
QOTD: I have anxiety just thinking about preparing for disaster! I lived on a Y2K prepper commune. Like...yes...full on...thought that the Y2K thing was going to bring down civilization, had solar panels, well water, raising animals, stores of food, guns, zip lines...the whole thing. Why you might ask? Because one of the men in my crazy church had a dream vision from God and declared we must all move. So... yes...prepping for the end times AND cult. It was miserable. I saw a "Emergency Backpack" display at Costco the other day and flinched. Costco is apparently pretty serious about the end times...check out this stash you can buy. Uhg.
Menu: B: Greek yogurt with granola; L: Frozen Chicken goulash; D: Chicken Taco salad; S: Mandarin orange; ES: Bacon slices

YAY for no smoking and TTR :D sounds like a great night.
So here is what makes me think the doomsday preppers have issues....ZIPLINES. Why ziplines? I mean if you are worried about some cataclysmic event wouldn't underground tunnels make more sense, and if you have to have lookout/sniper posts wouldn't a giant wire leading up to them just tell your enemy where you are located. For people determined to "survive anything" it all just seems like a made up reason to build a play fort once you start adding ziplines. IMHO
I'm so glad you are out of it!!
