Hiya,

No coffee is always really hard. I'm going to have to give up coffee at least for a little while on my surgeon's plan and I am NOT looking forward to it. Today is my last day at work before a 5 day weekend, so I may or may not be posting here for a few days. We will have to see how it all works out. Tomorrow my wife is getting her tonsils out and then Friday is the last day of school for my girls so unfortunately it won't be a terribly relaxing long weekend. I got in trouble the other day because my wife will not be allowed to talk for a few days after the surgery, but no one had told me this. Apparently I "looked too happy" when I found out LOL.

QOTD: We do not have a disaster pack per se, but we are pretty dedicated campers (tent/car camping though, not backwoods type) so we have a whole lot of equipment and such packed up. I should probably look at it with an eye toward disaster planning and maybe add a few things for just in cases.

Menu:

D: ???? My MIL is staying the night in order to go up and watch the awards ceremony at my girls' school while I am taking my wife to the hospital, so probably Mexican something

Wean off that coffee way before surgery. Abrupt withdraw is not pretty.

so glad all my labs are over for the research study I'm in (we go through it three times - before we begin, about 2-3 months into it, and at the end of the 10 months). It's two days' worth of testing, and seven days worth of logging things prior to the testing (dreams, blood, saliva, MRI, many computer tests designed to elicit stress, sleep study). I ended up taking a two-hour nap yesterday afternoon - but now things it's back to normal! Yay!!

QOTD: no emergency kit - although that would be a good idea!

23 months out (maintenance):

B: homemade Greek yogurt, raspberries, flaxseed

S: coffee with half & half, chai tea latte protein shake

L: cottage cheese

D: probably carnitas with lettuce, tomato, plain Greek yogurt, and a Flat Out wrap

maybe another Greek yogurt or baby carrots & hummus if I can afford the calories

exercise: yoga

Good morning DD2 and crew. I'm making an effort to get here today and post, since I've been so busy lately and haven't been able to get a post in. My little Bugsy got sick this past weekend and I had to take him to the vet, turned out that he must have eaten something that didn't agree with him. He also had some strange rash/bites on his tummy. Turns out that it's biting flies, and nothing to worry about. Apparently they have been bad this year, and flea and tick treatment does nothing to keep them away. He doesn't spend a lot of time outside, but we do walk and play in the back yard.

I'm pushing to get a lot of stuff done at work, because I'm officially having plastics within a month to 6 weeks. The financing should be here by the end of the week, so I can schedule my date. After talking with my hubby, we've decided that I need to do is ASAP, so I can heal up before he has RNY later this year. He wants to pu**** off until this fall, so he can get back into work and get as much done there before he has to be off of work for 4 to 6 weeks. He just had 8 weeks disability, so he needs to get some time in and figure out what he needs to do to be eligible for paid disability again. But he HAS to have surgery this year, because we've met our maximum out of pocket and his surgery will be free if he has it this year.

I will be having a tummy tuck and a breast lift. I'm nervous and excited!

DD2QOTD: I do not have an actual emergency kit. But I went and looked up what should be in one, and we have everything in our house except the gallons of water and the battery powered radio. We do have a battery backup though, that we could use to power my hubby's alarm clock for a very long time. We always keep lots of batteries on hand, and since I live semi rural, there is a bunch of firewood and stuff, in case we need to make a fire. I also have so many canned goods, I'm sure that we could survive for at least a week on it.

21 months since surgery

B: 2 eggs, 1oz of mozzarella cheese. Coffee with SF Coffeemate

Super happy for you. I know for me the mix of emotions was exhausting. Afraid one minute, excited another, worried another, then excited again followed by happy. I don't regret getting the PS done though. You are going to do great!

How exciting about the plastics! I didn't think I'd ever want that... but now that I've lost so much and actually SEE my stomach (boobs, arms, and thighs), I might put it on the bucket list for the future. I'll have to see how many times I win the lottery between now and then

Int he meantime, I can't wait to hear how yours goes!!!
