hey all

weight today 120.6, 17 months out
QOTD: no i do not have one. I really should get that together.
food for today:
B: probably gizzards I cooked yesterday or the leftover squid with some pasta sauce I made. time to remove the leftovers! coffee
L: more leftovers
S: not sure just yet.
D: I'm making this new recipe that is tortillas made with pork rinds instead of flour... Will serve this with lettuce wraps, ground beef (taco), and some refried beans. Will let yall know of the outcome. I also saw a recipe for sunflower seed bread with no flour/substitute. I thought I would give it a go. I'm in maintenance which is the ONLY reason I'm going here so the newbies know!! I generally stay away from all 'bread like' substances. the sunflower seed bread seems to be a similar to cloud bread with the egg whites but with flax and sunflower seeds added and some other stuff I'm going to make it up then freeze an only bring out what is needed for meals.
Ohh let us know how the pork rind tortillas work. Tortillas are one of my biggest downfalls.

This is my tortilla go to:
http://slimpalate.com/cauliflower-tortillas-paleo-grain-free -gluten-free/
And they freeze well too! I find they are tasty and good taco filling delivery system, but different enough from a tortilla, so they don't trigger cravings for me. If that makes sense.

Good morning Daisy and menu crew! Sorry to hear about your commute and of all days it has to happen on a day you are fasting. It would make me a little anxious! Some of you know that I changed jobs 3 months ago and now work 1.5 miles from my home! I drove 2 hours a day for 27 years! It is amazing the time that I have gained every day! I can relate to those with a long commute and feel for you!
QOTD - My wife is an RN so we are loaded with medical supplies and meds and we shop at Sams club so we always have multiple cases of bottled water, we live a block from the lake so that would help if we needed to draw water. We have candles and flashlights, plenty of canned goods, but nothing is together in a kit.
B - 2 eggs scrambled
S - Buddig ham and greek yogurt
L - White tuna and mayo
S - Premier protein shake before gym.
D - Pork chops and asparagus
Stay healthy my friends, Mike
Good morning menu folks!
Yesterday was a productive day for exercise. I took a short morning walk around the office building, a 2.8 mile walk outside at lunch and we had deep water aerobics last night. I continue to be amazed at how much I look forward to my exercise each day and the few days that I have missed how much I resent whatever got in the way.
Today will be another long walk day since it sounds like no rain.
QOTD: I have most of the items that are called for in an emergency kit, but not packed together. I always keep things like extra water and batteries handy though.
Breakfast: hard boiled egg, turkey sausage patty
Snack: Ice Tea protein shake
Lunch: TJ's Balsamic chicken
Snack: turkey breast
Dinner: Cod and salmon
Exercise: long walk at lunch

Good morning guys!
I clicked on this thread feeling kinda grumpy but by the time I read through the posts down to the bottom where I clicked reply I was feeling better, so thank you for that!
When I woke up this morning my first thought was....'Misery, thy name is orthodontia'. Yesterday I had something called a quad helix put in with my braces...it's basically an expanding device to widen my upper arch which has always been too narrow. It's like having a very mean paperclip in my mouth and it makes eating VERY difficult until I get used to it poking. I'm pretty much on mush and purees because chewing is a joke, and I pulled out my food processor last night in preparation for making some very ugly (albeit delicious) purees of things like stews etc.
QOTD: We don't have a kit, but we do have an emergency folder....if we have to leave the house quickly that folder goes with us, it has all sorts of stuff in it, birth certs/ss cards/passports. We really should put together an emergency kit, especially since we are in a state that sees hurricanes occasionally.
Menu is mush, mush, and more mush....and protein shakes!
Countdown to RNY: 29 days!
E: Lifting again tonight, I'm looking forward to it....but not the squats, I hate those with the fire of a thousand achy quads
Have a great day guys!

Kelsey
