Lots of diet fad programs make promises like "First Ten Pounds Free!" or "If you don't lose 10 pounds in the first 30 days, your money back!" They never actually work in the long run though do they? Most of us have tried many different eating plans, fad diets, Weigh****chers, Medifast...you name it.

It all works great the first few months, right?

Then what happens?

Exactly... nothing except regain and feeling like a failure. That has been my whole life...trying to diet...lose for a while...then feeling like a failure and regain usually more than I lost to begin with.

You had this surgery because it gives you the opportunity to break that cycle and make a permanent sustainable change.

I say, trust the process.

Yes, you're right. The whole point of choosing the surgery, specifically the RNY, was to kill off the regain. I know I can starve off the weight, but I've never been able to keep it ALL off.

Coffee is life! I feel ya.

I'm happy to be home, waking up in my own bed was so nice. I'm still in considerable pain, much more than my RNY last year! Ugh. My pouch is not the least bit happy with me lately, so the nausea is out of control.

Menu for me today is going to include plenty of softer comfort type foods. Protein forward, but not necessarily "on plan" so to speak. (Breakfast was a corned beef knish, lol) Pretty much whatever my pouch is willing to eat.

We won't really have a kit, but my husband is the type to have 3 of everything, lol. If we had to do anything in prep for a storm, we'd have to go buy milk. The 5 grandsons go through some milk!

Happy hump day, people!
