I just want to say that your post today has made me think about life and family and happiness and a myriad of other things. I think it is important to have times to dwell on these important things and make resolutions to change what needs changing. So from that stand point you have been very much "of some worth" to me today and we live over 1200 miles away from each other and have never met.

Please remember that you and your life/interactions have so much more value than we can really ever comprehend.

Thank you. I appreciate your support and wish you luck on your continued journey.

This too will pass, like a kidney stone but it will pass!

I'm sorry your eating is so tough on you. I'm a newb, so i have no WLS specific advice, but if you can't handle the whey because of how it hits your gut system, you might want to try goat milk yogurt and whey. It still has lactose, but the protein is a little easier for most of us to digest. If you can't find it in your local specialty store, you might just HAVE to buy a couple little goats.

LOL

I doubt the Henderson community would look favorably on my having a couple of little goats. My three cats just meet code for number of pets allowed per household.

Thank you for the suggestions. I have never tried goat's milk and not sure where I would buy it. Now that I am living on a pension, my food budget does not allow for much experimentation. I wish you well on your journey with WLS. It saved my life.

My sister is severely lactose intolerant, but she can drink/use goat's milk without any issues. It is harder to find fresh but we get it either canned or powdered. It is normally in the baking aisle and/or the ethnic (Mexican) foods section here. We find that the powdered is VERY economical but it wouldn't be my first choice to drink straight. Works great in cooking though and would probably mix into other drinks just fine. The canned is normally evaporated and tastes just fine if you dilute it 1:1 with water.

Condolences on your Husband. That must be so difficult.

I know you say you are not depressed but as others have said, you are not enjoying life.

I understand not wanting to be offered a pill- but maybe going to a therapist who help work through some of the unknowns and how do I move forward in this life and be happy? Going to a counselor doesn't have to be forever.

Getting your labs checked and vitamins in order may make a huge difference, and as HALA said, we often needed to be at the higher end of normal, or in the case of B-12 higher than normal. When I was at 500-600 mg of B-12 I was having low B-12 symptoms...

Good Luck!
