Surgery is APPROVED!
Five months ago I was at a crossroads as the bariatric surgeon I was using had a maximum weight limit for gastric bypass surgery of 350 lbs. My highest weight was 625 lbs and I am currently at 478 lbs. So I've lost a lot of weight but it has taken me 6 years. I have been at a plateau for the past year and a half and just couldn't wait any longer for some resolution. So upon feedback from this group I went on a search for a surgeon that did not have a weight maximum and that took Medicaid and who has been doing this for some time (experienced). After many weeks of researching and calling all over Missouri I finally found a bariatric surgeon that met all of the qualifications I was looking for. I just got the phone call that I have been approved for surgery!! I wasn't sure it would ever actually be approved and I am beyond excited to start on my own journey with my new "tool". Thank you to all of you *****sponded to my first post regarding my situation and giving me some feedback as it made all the difference in the world.

Congrats!
I cant speak for every bariatric patient but I often say it's like being on the easiest diet in the world.
Amazing! Congratulations!! I always say we have to self advocate. You're proof. Well done!
I remember reading some of your earlier posts when you were so frustrated. I'm so glad you were able to find the right surgeon. You have the determination you need to be successful. Best of luck in your journey!
