Indeed...it is never just one! All we can do is white knuckle through and not have even one. Trust me...the weekend of wagon falling was not 'fun' enough to make up for this renewed misery of quitting again.

I have had some success with Chantix in the past. I say some because it didn't stop me from starting again further down the line, but it did help with the initial pangs. Might be worth looking into with your dr.

Been there and done that when I first quit several months ago. It was killer on my pouch...stabby stabby pain every time I took it. Not long after I was diagnosed with ulcers...related? Unsure. Either way...I'm not going to take it again just in case. It was really helpful with the cravings though I agree. This time...just got to be tough.

Ugghh...that's killer!!!

Just remember you have quit before so you KNOW you can do it. I know it doesn't help a lot, but hopefully some.

They test for it in your blood. If it shows in pre-op testing sone surgeons will cancel. They tested mine and I have NEVER smoked.

Yep...the fact that they can cancel it is keeping me honest. I truly want this surgery more than I want nicotine....although some days it seems like a closer race than others.

Hi! Beautiful day here in my neighborhood. Mr Rogers would be proud and not be sure: sweater or no sweater?

We continue to have the #Mayhem of the last few weeks of school. My 9th grade son auditioned for a summer youth theater production on Saturday, and found out yesterday that he got the role of the Beast in Beauty the the Beast Jr. He is so happy. I think he will do a good job. We told him to start growing his fingernails. :-)

7th grade son was accepted to the summer swim team at the local rec center, and was placed in the same practice group as his friend (hooray! that means a carpool!). It was his birthday this weekend, and we celebrated yesterday. Our college daughter gave him a joke book she bought at a used bookstore. He was reading it in bed last night. This morning, he told me that about half of the jokes are too crude. (We read a few last night, had some good laughs, but had to skip several--so I was not surprised by what he said this morning.) So, we will order something more age-appropriate from Amazon.

Both boys are trying their darnedest to get all make up work done in time for their grades this last week of school. Today is pretty much the last day for that.

I am still doing physical therapy after my Achilles surgery in mid-Feb. The surgeon said by the 5 month mark I should see good improvement. Hoping to see good results. Tired of being so sore. Yesterday the pain was bad enough that I had trouble going to sleep.

QOTD. I like fireworks, but I also don't like them. We get SO MANY wildfires near me. Lots of scrub oak, near the mountains, and honestly, people are just incredibly irresponsible. In my years living at the base of some beautiful mountains, I have seen large mountain fires destroy hundred-year-old pine stands, and then we have the mudslides and flooding the next years because all the brush is destroyed.

Because of the wildfire danger, a few years ago our city starting inviting everyone to bring their fireworks to the city center park. This was wonderful fun! Festive, a feeling of community. For 2-3 years. But then it got out of control. Giant huge fireworks--probably illegal--bigger than many cities would pay for in a municipal display. People would just carry their fireworks into the park and put them on the grass a few yards away from other people. My kids and I once got hit with little rockets, daughter had to dodge a big one. This year we were out of town, but when we got back heard that the city had decided no more--a fire in the bathroom, garbage left all over, some injuries. So no more.

Menu for today:

B: scrambled egg, raspberries

L: Chicken enchilada filling with cabbage

D: Hmmmm. Not sure on this yet, but probably orange chicken and green beans

S: options--will not eat all: shrimp, cheddar cheese, crab cake.

Drinking Crio Bru and lot of herb tea.

Goals: sit down to eat, don't skip meals, enter everything into MFP.

Happy tuesday. Late post for me. Another day of trying to detox from a craptastic eating weekend. I had a graduation, graduation brunch, U2 concert at the Rose Bowl and my SIL's birthday dinner. I did the cooking for the brunch so that was pretty WLS friendly (3 different frittatas, smoked salmon, fruit and veggie platters) but the rest of the weekend I ate crap non-stop. Kettle corn and chicken bowl at the concert, mimosa(s) the next day, cosmopolitan at dinner, chocolate cake for dessert, part of a breakfast burrito (the innards only, but still), and to top it all off, carrot cake. With all that crap, I'm only up a lb, but still. Time to buckle down.

DQOTD - From my backyard you can see fireworks on the 4th of July. Nikolai (my dog) loves them and will jump up on a lounge chair and watch the sky!

My back on track plan:

B: 2 oz everoast chicken, 1 string cheese, 2 tbs hummus

S: Skinny vanilla latte

L: 3.53 oz chicken breast, 5 pea pods, .7 oz cheddar cheese

S: Dannon light and fit before the gym, almonds after on my way home

D: either steak or shrimp, artichoke heart

No totals since I'm not sure about dinner, but it looks protein heavy and carb medium (damned dairy)
