What's on your menu today (Wednesday) RNYers?
Morning!
missed yesterday somehow. Lol
qotd- I have never in my life bought a pair of running shoes, lol. I do own a pair of nikes that my mom bought and were a bit small for her. I do wear them to exercise when I do my elliptical. Otherwise I'm all about my birks, crocs, and other big comfortable shoes.
Helping my daughter diet has been awesome. The scale is really showing it!
Breakfast- eggs over cauliflower "grits" with Parmesan and bacon. SO GOOD.
Lunch- leftovers from dinner- ground turkey with tomatoes, peppers, and onions, and a green salad
Snack- 2 whole grain crackers with pepper jelly and Gouda cheese (these were in a goodie bag I got for Mother's Day. I know, crackers...but there are 8. I have it all portioned off into 8 servings. :))
dinner- chicken Caesar salad, marinated tomatoes

Good morning! What a drastic weather swing, Daisy! Stay cool today. I'm still waiting for the heat to come here and stay. It's supposed to be really nice and warm this weekend. I'm looking forward to taking the dogs to the beach on Saturday.
My mom is doing a little better, enough to be moved out of ICU hopefully today. She will be in the hospital for a while as they haven't determined what caused her initial respiratory failure yet. She may need to go to a rehab facility after for a bit. All my siblings are back in town (there are 5 of us here) and we have made a schedule to cover my dads 24 hour care, which is such a relief (I'm exhausted). We are also working on getting some home services.
QOTD - So far, I prefer Old navy active wear. My only choices used to be Lane Bryant and Old Navy... Lane Bryant clothes (any and all)rarely if ever fit me right and are ridiculously expensive. I always had great luck w/Old navy. I will probably branch out now that I have more options! I am a die hard Nike running shoe fan. I've tried lots of others - especially during a bout of plantar fasciitis and they are good too, but I have always preferred Nike (there is a certain line I always get). I wear Miraclesuits for swimming, they hold everything in and up!!
5+months post op
b-coffee w/heavy cream and splenda
b-salami, cream cheese and everything bagel seasoning
l-beef jerky/meat stick
d-steak
v/l on track
e - lap swim
Have a great day all!

Hello everyone!
I am continuing my "cut the carbs" commitment. (I think that is C^3) I did well yesterday--fewer strong cravings than the day before, though more food fantasies! Weird. I should just say that I am not being 100% elimination on carbs--this is not CAMAW. For example, last night, I made fish tacos for the family, and I always use a panko-breaded fish filet that I keep in the freezer. Also, I am eating the small amount of carbs in vegetables including tomatoes. I am generally not eating fruit, except if it (like the breadcrumbs) is a part of something else, and then in limited quantity. Example: the salsa I make for fish tacos has a mix of peppers, onions, grapes and apples. Anyway, I thought I should put that out there--full disclosure of what I mean by C^3. :-)
I also am keeping my commitment to return to tracking on MFP. And, I am trying to sit down to eat, and to keep my WLS commitments in mind. I am listening to some guided imagery/affirmations on stress management and weight management. Gotta get off this weight I gained during surgery recovery.
This morning we woke up to SNOW! forecast is for a high of 47. Tomorrow forecast of snow and a high of 51. Brrrrr.
QOTD: Clothes: Champion pants--cheap at Target. Shirts--whatever I like that I can find on sale at outlets or Target or other places. Shoes: I used to use Asics, neutral. I have been trying Altras--they are flat and have a wide toe box. With my Achilles problem, I have not been a runner or even walker like I used to be. Hoping to do that again once the recovery is far enough!
Today's menu plan:
B: Chicken sausage and grape tomato
L: Fish with cabbage, salsa, sauce
D: Not sure on this one yet. A crazy night here. Probably grilled tuna for the family, so plain tuna for me.
S: Options--hardboiled egg, swiss cheese, leftover steak or chicken.
Always drinking crio bru with unsweetened soy as a creamer, and lots of herbal tea. Today's tea is Orange blossom.
Happy day, everyone! Stay warm! Or cool! Everyone: STAY COOL.
