Good Morning people.

Well I officially completed the first PIYO workout last night, and by that I mean I was still alive when it was over. Beyond that I don't know if it counts. I've decided it is too fast for me. I'm a plodder and it seems like as soon as I was able to get into the (modified) positions they were off to something different. Also, I CAN get to all of the positions BUT what goes up must come down not vice a versa. So if you ask me to get into a lunge and then tell me to bounce down and up its 6 one way 1/2 a dozen the other that the up part just won't happen. I think I'm going to back off and find a yoga program online that I can do to build up to it. Anyone have any suggestions? It needs to be something that I can do from home, online or DVD doesn't matter but preferably not something that requires a monthly subscription. Also I want to do it with my kiddos so don't send me links to nekkid yoga or anything (or maybe do just tell me first so I don't bring it up with the kids in the room :D J/K).

QOTD: Based on last night, I work out in an old t-shirt from Teefury and basketball shorts I got on sale for $.50 from a local thrift store. I'm not cheap just....oh all right I'm cheap. :)

Menu:

B: Venti iced coffee w/ soy and sf cinnamon dolce syrup and egg bites from starbucks

L: Left over pasta sauce w/ ground turkey on top of ricotta and cottage cheese. Kind of like a ricotta bake but I didn't bother to bake it. I'm going to put it in the microwave and cross my fingers it works out.

D: ??? its my wife's turn to cook dinner so I don't have to think about it today Woo Hoo

S: Premier protein shake, and for dessert tonight I will probably have a protein fudge-cicle

My hubby had found great success doing DDPYoga. I think I may try it once I'm released to exercise-just something in the evenings I want to try and do to tone up.

Good morning! Wow, your weather is kinda crazy- it'll be warm here too. Hope you're able to enjoy the long weekend!!

QOTD: So far with running shoes I have been Saucony loyal. As far as clothes...I have a mix of all kinds of different brands and get most at Ross or somewhere like that. Recently I have been wearing Victoria's Secret sports bras since they had them 1/2 off a few months ago and I bought 4-5 of them. I hope to be able to wear my workout clothes next week-I miss running.

Morning fellow RNY'ers! I have along weekend ahead too- taking off Friday for my nieces graduation. My lawn has been my per project this year- I'm hoping to be able to work on it some more this weekend.

QOTD: For running I've taken to Saucony running shoes. I tried on a pair of Brooks and didn't like them. I'm just sticking with what I know. I have no brand loyalty for clothes, and avoid Nike/Under Armour/Reebok/Addidas because of the cost. Most of my work out clothes I get at Ross, Marshalls etc. I have been curious to try an under Armour brand, to see the quality/ benefits specifically of their heat gear stuff. My favorite brand sports bra is champion currently.

hi kids, I didn't spend ANY time on fixing my food (causes trouble) so today:

breakfast 8 oz milk, 1/2 scoop van protein, 1 scoop click

2 cups coffee

lunch steel cut oatmeal with sugar free brown sugar-cinnamon, and 1/2 a tiny box of raisins...1 box is 12 grams sugar, so keeping it low.

2 slices mango

dinner: I have NO idea. I might make zuchinni noodles and put parmesan cheese on it.

and I said I'm 9 years out, well...I did the math, and I'm only 8 years. can't count years, either!!!

Good morning! It's been a few days since I've checked in with anything. Since losing my best friend and workout buddy a week ago it's been a bit of a whirlwind and my head hasn't been quite focused at all. I didn't fall off the rails though with all of this going on. My heart is still quite heavy but I'm getting by. I'm going to try and go to the gym maybe this Saturday morning, but I'm not quite there just yet. He'd want me to go and would kick my arse to get there (a running joke with us).

I don't really do athletic wear for anything, if that's even a thing for guys, but I am starting up in a rec league beach volleyball league soon. I played in high school and I was good at it. Looking forward to adding that to my list of active things. I'm still walking 7 miles round trip to work daily (or sometimes biking) and evening walks of another 2 miles, sometimes with my family, usually just me and my earbuds.

I may have to do something soon clothes-wise. I pulled on some shorts I've had for years, and without a belt I'd be charged with indecent exposure. I've done a couple of shopping trips to thrift stores, but I think I'll have to go again before long. It's a good problem to have.

I did my 3 month lab blood draw this morning for a June 2 appolntment. Looking forward to seeing what they find. I'm hoping to smash through another "decade" of weight (I count the 10 pound increments in decades because my brain is weird like that).

Today's menu:

B: Protein shake 25g Pro, 2 carb

MS: 1/2 cup FF greek plain yogurt with 2 oz frozen berries mixed in

L: Same as Breakfast

AS: Same as MS

Supper: Chicken something. Maybe mix it with 1/2 cup of salad.

ES: Doubtful I bother, but possibly an ounce of cheese cut up on a couple of triscuits or whatever, but I prefer just having a decaf coffee on the back porch. Never hungry for anything, ever, so evening eating has fallen off quite a lot.

:)

Remember, no matter where you go.......there you are.

New Balance! It's the only place I can find sneakers that fit, off the rack -- 14 EEEE. And I like UnderArmour shirts a lot, especially in summer.

JB has gotten 4,862 pair of shoes delivered since she moved in. I laugh a little when she gets them from Stride Rite.

And yeah, I can act all brave when she's out of the country and not reading here.

You'll have to thank JB for the Stride Rite tip for me. I just checked the website and can probably fit into the shoes. #shortgirlsrule
