Possible ulcer?
I do have 2 ulcers, that is what I found out on Monday after having my endoscopy. I am taking Carafate. My doc told me things to avoid that are prone to cause ulcers.
Smoking (thank goodness I don't smoke)
NSAIDS
eating and not waiting at least 3 hours before going to bed
tomato base food
my lap band -- Doc says.. get that thing out.
My Gastro doc said.. spicy foods does not cause an ulcer. She said that it would be safer for me to eat a jalapeno than it is for me to eat a tomato... strange eh?

Revision Lap Band to RNY Approved 5/10/17 Surgery Date 6/6/2017
Hi there. I am so very sorry you are dealing with this. I had RNY 10/24. Got ulcer symptoms about 12/23. Found ulcer. Treated with Carafate and 2nd dose of Omeprazole for 6 weeks. Exploratory Endo found Ulcer worse in early Feb. Had to have RNY revision and excision of my stomach (basically started over) on 2/20.
Symptoms were food feeling stuck. Pain when eating. Stomach constantly felt like it was spasming.
I will pray for you! I am now dealing with strictures post op and I swear I am a good patient. I do not drink or smoke (common reason for ulcers). There was no reason for my ulcers :( I am here to chat if you need info. PM me.
Please don't ignore symptoms. I had pain and naseua and when to my (old) surgeon who told me "looking as good as I did I must be pregnant." She ran a test, which was negative. Not too long after that I was in emergency surgery for a perforated ulcer and was near septic. This has happened three more times since. I faithfully take my NSAIDS and am on a a daily dose of carafate. In January I had a complete reversal of my RNY due to many other complications, and during the reversals yet another perforated ulcer was discovered. Ulcers can be scary and dangerous business. Get checked out!
