Morning! JB your lunch sounds good. I love feta.

QOTD- I first really heard of the surgery several years ago. My mom tried to have it done. She went through all of the pre-op stuff and ended up not being approved...I don't even remember why now. Maybe just an insurance reason? Ended up being ok for her, the guy that was doing the surgeries here was a hack. And my mom lost weight after all. She was helped out by a terrible case of diverticulitis, lol. But she finished on her own! Anyway, at the time I didn't consider it seriously for myself. I was knee deep in having babies too. But Hack Surgeon went away and eventually a couple of new surgeons came to the area. The first time I really got serious was when a friend of mine had a sleeve done. That was a couple of years ago.

B- Apple cinnamon protein oatmeal

L- chicken salad

D- this pizza spaghetti squash casserole I made last night. It said it made three servings but it is big, I'll he eating it all week.

hey yall

QOTD: My doctor PCP mentioned it to me. I was always dead set against it because I saw all the failure around it and how it didn't 'work' for a lot of people. They never changed their head and gained back. I finally was at the point that I had to do something. with the PCOS it was very hard for me to lose weight due to the insulin resistance. coupled with that and genetics I went to the first info session.

Yesterday ran to grocery store very quickly, got breakfast for DH (really late lunch), went to cvs to get bargains, and back home. Looks like the house down the road finally got a contract on it and it was the comp we were looking for to be able to sell ours. Ours is one of the only houses in subdivision with finished basement so it is worth the most, we had to wait until we got a comp close enough to our value to put ours ont he market. SO in the next month or so, we may be putting ours up. I would like to not have a mortgage and this will enable us to do that. chickens are good and the bigger ones will probably be going into their coop (once it is built) this next weekend or close to it.

I did not cook up any meats last night so here is the menu plan:

decaf/miralax/protein cake/yogurt/green beans/spouts (sunflower/pea)/ lettuce/tuna maybe? or tilapia

Not sure about dinner, DH will be gone till 6:30 at least so not sure what to plan on.

16 months post-op / 120lbs today/looking to get to 116.

Exercise: nothing planned because I'm a slacker. I might try some home yoga or the utube station.

Good Morning JB and Menu Family!

QOTD: My psychiatrist, (who had had WLS), suggested it to me about a year or two before I decided to do it. Then when my liver doctor told me if I didn't lose weight I would be in liver failure within 5-10 years, that scared me and I made plans to have RNY done. (My MO dad died of liver failure). I'm happy to report that my liver enzymes are back to NORMAL now!

B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks

L: taco meat, cheese, sour cream, 1/2 flour tortilla

D: taco meat, cheese, sour cream, 1/2 flour tortilla

S: light n fit Greek yogurt

Exercise: Walking Blossom around the subdivision

Have a WONDERFUL day everyone!

Good morning and Happy Monday! I think I know what you mean about the ulcer JB, but I will post that separately.

QOTD: I had the lapband previously and it slipped and was removed. It took me a good 2 years to go back to another WLS, but I knew I had to do something and had excellent insurance at the time. Not sorry!

B- light & fit yogurt, 2 T granola

L- ground turkey, lettuce, shredded cheese and grape tomatoes

D- 3 oz pork loin, Caesar salad

S- mozz string cheese

Totals- Cals- 710, protein-79

Have a great day!

Good morning JB. Good morning Menu Pals. I had a huge come to Jesus moment this morning when I stepped on the scale. My weight is way up, like 167. I know that some of it has to be water, and I'm also feeling really backed up and in need of a big poop, lol. But I also know it's because I've been off the rails with food for a few weeks, really bad since Easter. I got so sick with RH last night after I ate a big ole bowl of Raisin Bran Crunch (with unsweetened cashew milk). I got on the scale this morning and I'm up 13 pounds from my lowest weight back in November. I just can't keep on like this, because it will keep creeping up and it will get so much harder to fix it.

Also, now that my hubby has started really getting into the program with his RNY coming up sometime this summer, I have to reset and get back to the basics.

I had a great weekend, though. Birthday party for my neice was bowling on Saturday, with a respectable score of 85 (Don't laugh!). Kal got to bowl for the first time and he had lots of fun. I think that we'll keep it in mind for a family outting sometime this winter. Maybe even a good option for a birthday party, since his birthday is in November and our usual birthday celebrations for my oldest always include a BBQ (in the summer) so we will be searching for things to do for him that are special.

Sunday was another birthday party, and while I was good on Saturday and skipped cupcakes, Sunday I didn't do as well resisting the junk. My neice and her friends made this birthday cake and decorated it themselves. She turned 12 yesterday. It was a funfetti cake and the horn was made of marshmallows. Cutest cake I've seen in forever, and surprisingly moist and delicious, considering a gaggle of 12 year olds made it. Look how cute!

JBQOTD: It was my idea. I don't remember exactly when or how I thought about it, I know I had been thinking about it prior to 2014 when I finally decided to get serious and look into it. When I mentioned it to my PCP, he was enthusiastic and supportive.

20 months since surgery

B: 2 eggs, coffee with SF coffeemate

L: Bean and Ham soup that I made myself yesterday.

D: More bean and ham soup? Maybe something else, depends on how I'm feeling when I get home

S: Carbmaster Yogurt and Sharp Cheddar cheese.

No totals. I've been bad and I didn't build the recipe for the soup, though I know it's healthy since it's beans, veggies, ham and low sodium chicken broth.

I am banning all complex carbs from my diet for the week. I've been really bad and the more I let in, the crazier I get.

Have a great day everyone.

JB- the decaf also did not help my acid issues. I had to go back on protonix daily :(

I was wondering what the verdict of your appointment was...Question, How did they determine ulcer? Did they put you on carafate? Just because I still have my own acid issues....inquiring minds want to know.

I hear you with the weight gain...I was banging my head, and each week putting a moratorium on something else...last week was the protein drinks... winner, winner , chicken dinner :) the scale has moved...back in my zone...I have a wedding this weekend, gotta fit into the dress :)

QOTD: I researched it ad nauseum over the years since the early 90's when I first got a computer. I knew someone who had WLS in the 80's and actually even knew someone who had the jaw wired shut back in the day....I remember the first time a Doctor mentioned it to me I was horrified, and stopped going to him... :)...what started the mental ball rolling was having my annual a the gyn Doc and his NP mentioning it to me, and saying her niece had it done, "And I didn't think she would do well, but she is doing well" I was right before Easter- and seeing my niece on Easter she had had WLS like 10 years before that and asking her if she was still happy she had done it....of course she said Yes- no regrets....

B: Coffee Latte- Fairlife/miralax/SF Syrup
2 eggs, avocado, TJ Everything bagel spice :)

L: Tuna on wasa cracker, cucumber - bought these Persian small cucumbers at TJs. Really like them, because with a big cucumber it always starts going bad as soon as you cut into them....so I always end up throwing some out. One of these makes about a half cup of slices.

S: Homemade Trail Mix
Babybel cheese

D: Cod and shrinp Alfredo on Veggies

S: Protein Hot chocolate
Siggi's yogurt with blueberries

Ex: Pilates

Verdict was probably a marginal ulcer, but they prefer to treat it aggressively with Carafate and a PPI for 30 days. Then if that doesn't resolve it, they will go in to do an exploratory endoscopy.

He didn't actually take me off the coffee, I did it myself because I know it's the right thing to do. But oh my GAWD I am tired and have such a headache today...

My Gastro doc was really specific that the coffee won't make any difference but that IF it helps with symptoms then that is great. My suggestion...basically if the headache is worse than the tummy pain...go to Starbucks.
