Good morning, Good news, we have sun and warmer temps for the foreseeable future! Yesterday, after feeling a little better from my migraine I ended up with some sort of stomach thing and lets just say I am super glad I stayed home. BF got home from San Diego at midnight last night, I was so happy to have him home and now all is right in my world. I'm feeling better day today, I'm at work, tired but ready for the day and my workout later this afternoon.
JB -Sorry to hear about your reflux. I used to have it so bad pre op that I had Tums stashed everywhere and I would panic if I was running low. It literally ruled my life. I hope it's nothing serious for you!!
QOTD - There is one commercial that my BF and I think is hysterical, but for the life of me I cannot think of which one! I do love the Melissa McCarthy Kia ad, it still gets me!

Morning! Or, almost, afternoon, is it? Getting there. Boy we are off to a slow start today.
QOTD- Well, I hardly ever see commercials! We haven't had cable in many years. I gave up trying to have cable and keep garbage away from my kids. Even when I would tivo a show I thought would be appropriate, I would find myself questioned about KY his and hers commercials and answering questions about erectile dysfunction. My husband and I are not huge tv watchers anyway, so we just cancelled it and we make due with netflix, amazon streaming, videos.
Well, I'm posting a caveat here. Part of the reason I haven't been posting every day is that I started fasting two days a week during Lent. Started for spiritual reasons, but I have found it very helpful in combating my head food issues too, things like compulsive grazing, bored eating, my general ability to deny myself, etc. I have also read about the benefits to your metabolism with intermittent fasting, shaking up stalls by keeping calories and what you eat irregular, etc. So, anyway,I am continuing with it for the time being, and so my menus are wonky twice a week, and this is why. :)
B- chocolate orange protein shake made with almond milk

Feel free to keep posting even when your menus are funky. I think that posting here is half for accountability and half to show others what is (or isn't) working for you, so people can get a range of options and role models. I really really really do read what everyone is eating every day, because even at almost 2 years post op, I like to get new ideas and get help switching things up when it's not working.
After getting some awesome feedback here, I've revamped my meals to what feels more natural to me anyway :) No more forcing in food to meet the 800 calorie goal, no more protein bars!
QOTD: Can't think of the one, but I reserve the right to come back and edit this when it comes to me!

Glad to hear you are making the switch to what feel right at this stage. Your stats are awesome--great amount of protein for so few calories and carbs. If you stay like that every day, you are going to be at goal in NO time! :)
All of you people need to watch more TV.

Just say no to hernias and ulcers! For sure...no fun. I can say though the pain for me is a very stabby stabby under the rib cage on the right side pain. Acid reflux/heartburn feeling is different for me and I don't have that hardly at all. So....hoping you just had plain Jane ole fashion heartburn not the fancy kind of badness.
I am scheduled for surgery to repair the internal hernia next Wednesday. One week out of work, several weeks of lifting restrictions. Luckily I don't really 'do' much for my job as far as physically so I should be ok pretty quickly. It is all super frustrating but I know it is all going to work out. Interesting side note...this will now be the fourth time Dr Faulkenberry has operated on me. I think he has a crush on me or something lol
Made a separate post about the hernia stuffs for anyone interested in the details.
QOTD: I love the commercials for Tide where the guy goes to Gronk's Dry Cleaners

I made a doctors appointment for Friday... I'm probably overreacting, but I have stories like yours running through my mind.
