What's On Your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
Sorry to hear about the Dr's office having a case of the Mondays! Maybe in the future, set up your appointments on Wednesday or Thursday so they aren't as grumpy and actually have your act together!
And GOOD FOR YOU for restricting the hubby's smoking!

I'm on the flip side, life is interfering with work! Home day 2 with plumbing problems. We've got everything squared away with the city, thankfully they offer a zero interest loan for the repairs we need. Now we need to get the water shut off until the repairs can be done (not till next week, thanks to the pope visit). Soon as the water is of we're headed to stay with my mom in S****il then we're extracting water out of the basement carpet hourly to avoid a total flood.
Breakfast: 1.5 fried eggs, 1 slice cheese, 1 turkey sausage.
Snack: vanilla greek yogurt and pumpkin spice flax granola
L: teriyaki tilapia
D: chicken quesadillas, without the quesadilla for me
5'6.5" High weight:337 Lowest weight:193/31 BMI: Goal: 195-205/31-32 BMI
Oh, I am so sorry for all of your plumbing issues!!! Glad you are going to be able to get it fixed without too much of a drain on your finances.
Hope you have a good visit with your Mom... weather should be nice. And, who would want to be in town with the Pope visiting anyway... the city is gonna be on lockdown!

Good morning! I can't complain abut work...still looking for a job while I take classes. I'm venturing out of my field for work, now, because I just need something part-time while I go through this Master's program. I'd love just an easy desk/office/admin job or something. I keep getting told that I am overqualified (which I am) but it's hard to convince people in a cover letter that it's okay for me to switch fields for a job that is beneath my pay-scale and that I will not get bored and leave... I NEED something I am overqualified for right now! Oh well, something will come, I'm sure.
9 weeks out!
Breakfast: scrambled EggBeaters with scallions and shredded part skim mozzarella and 1/2 "double protein" English muffin.
Lunch: Premier Protein shake blended with ice & PB2
Snack: Dannon Oikos Pumpkin Yogurt
Dinner: Oven Craver's Broccoli and Cheese stuffed chicken breast

Exercise
Having a fun exercise day, already! This morning I went on a 2 mile walk/jog around the neighborhood, then came in for 30 minutes on the elliptical. Later this afternoon I will be hanging out with my 8 year old nephew (who is sports obsessed) and we'll play soccer and lacrosse together. Tonight...some Wii dance!
This is exactly what I went through after I was laid off from my former job. I kept getting "overqualified". I did not want a stressful job like the one I held previously. Until I walked into this place in November 2012 as a temp, and even then I was told I was overqualified. However, they tried hiring someone else who didn't work out, they called me back less than 2 weeks later. Now I come in the morning, do my job, leave at 4:30 and don't think about wor****il the next morning. There is occasional stress, just like anyplace, but nothing like the daily crazy stress I used to have.
Have fun with your nephew. Hmmm, Wii dancing might be in my evening too. Haven't even thought about the Wii in a long time.
Hey Juniper!
I wanted to chime in, because when I was laid off a few years ago, no one initially wanted to hire me either! They just looked at my resume, saw an impressive position and salary and was like "NOPE" when I was applying for more low-level office positions. What worked for me was to go to a temp agency (like OfficeTeam or a local agency) and I explained that I *LIKE* office work, and am willing to do anything (even remedial tasks) if it got me a pay check. They had me take some tests in things like typing speed, MS Office, etc and put me in a neat position the next Monday. Maybe try something like that? As someone who has worked in a temp agency before (for office staff) we always loved someone over-qualified coming in and just wanting to work! Either way, good luck to you!

Thanks. I am thinking temp might be the way to go... I was hoping to find something more immediately permanent so that I don't have to keep jumping around. It's been hard to switch into "school" mode, so I am worried about having to learn and re-learn new jobs and office enviroments every few weeks, but maybe it will just magic into something more permanent right away :)
Understood. Temp agencies also do things called "Temp to Perm" or "Temp to Hire" where they want to 'trial' you first as a temp and if they like you, get offered a permanent position. Good luck to you regardless!
