I am so glad that you came last night, not only was it great to see you. Hearing how you are handing and what you are feeling really helps us all.  It helped me put my issues into some sort of perspective and for that I can not thank you enough!!!

Keep in touch and do not be a stranger.  We can help eachother through the bumps in the road.

I would seek another opionion and even 2 if it would make you feel better and more confident with the decision you are about to make.  Good luck!

Talk to one more DS surgeon... then make your decision from there.  It seems the DS would be better for you - a woman on the lightweights board had a DS and she is not too skinny - even thought she did not have much to lose.

I missed the group meeting last nite. Family obligations at last minute. Had to take my grand-daughter becaus her mom had to work late. It really isn't an obligation to take her, more like a pleasure!!!! But, I still missed seeing you all................there's always next month. Hope everyone is doing well!!!~~~~Kim

Okay, so I went to Pa to talk to a surgeon about a DS procedure becasue I was told that the RNY wasn't a possibility due to esophogeal issues. I get to the appt and he says that the DS would not be good due to acid reflux problems and that he is afraid that I will lose too  much weight. He did say that the RNY would work for me and that he would be willing to do it for me. Well, I takje meds for health resaons and that was one reason that I wanted the DS. I have been fighting soooo long. my insurance would cover the RNY easier but I'm ot sure what to do. 2 doctors with 2 completely different opinions. Help!!  Should call the surgeon and ask him to reconsider or just accept the offer and move on? Thanks for your help.

Good Morning Everyone - for the first time in about 8 months I went to Julie's meeting last night at Roger Williams and I was able to share my recent struggles with the group. I honestly feel so much better today that I was able to vent. I had been avoiding the group atmosphere in fear of feeling like a failure and I really appreciate everyone being so supportive and listening to me. Now that I've shared me struggles I'm seriously back on track.

Again, thank you all so much for your support - it really means a lot to me that I know I have a great group of friends that I can turn to!
