If you don't already have reservations these are great places to stay (and exceptionally reasonable).  If you have reservations elsewhere, check it out anyway, they have live music, fine dining, formal gardens, historical restorations, great art---fun.

The New York Times had an article-----Portland in 36hrs.  it hit a lot of the high spots.

Hey Grandma!  What a beautiful grand baby!  that will be so much fun to have her in your life.

It seems like forever since we all got together doesn't it.  We really should do that again.  I remember the last time was up in Portland near the expo center for breakfast.  So much has happened since then!

I'm sorry to hear your DH has lost his job....I'm in the same boat and have been since early last summer.  It is the pits, but through it all I've learned a new appreciation for the simple things in life and I realize that we can all do with much less!
