Daddy is home and looking pretty good-still very weak but glad to be out the hospital.  My patience muscles are very sore right now....but for the most part I was a trouper and I think I was able to show when my patience was wearing thin without snapping or gritting through it and getting upset when I got home.  So yay for the personal growth.

It really is easier to help friends out than family, because friends remember to be nice, family not always.  But, while I'm a bit grumpy tonight, I am extremely grateful for being able to be with my family at this time.  We clash a lot, but I'm really very good at the things they are not-talking to strangers, questioning authority, etc. and I think they've come to appreciate our differences a little more.

Good job with getting through all of this with patience, Debra. I'm sure it wasn't easy. I praise God for the healing your father has experienced already, and I am praying that it will continue. Do something nice for yourself, now.
Blessings,
Mary

I am happy your Dad is home now.  Hospital sitting is exhausting!  Being able to be with your family in times of crisis is truly a blessing.  Your parents (and you) are so lucky that you can be there for them.  Go enjoy a good night's rest- you deserve it.

I appreciate all your concern.  My brother, who is never very communicative but usually dependable, has been silent through all this, so I am a little concerned but haven't had time to track him down and figure out what is going on with him.  I hope he's just busy so I can get angry with him rather than having some sort of trouble or illness himself.

I understand what you mean about family - they know all the buttons to push.  I'm 54 and my Mom is 87 but I'm still a child .  It's tough to tell a parent no.  Glad your Dad is home and for your personal growth.

I'm so glad your Dad is home. I'm pulling for him to have increasing strength and a full recovery.

Family is a blessing, but boy, they can be the most difficult of all at times. Hugs to you!!! You're doing a great job helping with your folks and holding yourself together at the same time. I hope you do happy things for you whenerver you get the opportunity!

I hope you get good rest and that you and your folks stay on a healthy path now. Don't forget to take care of you in all of this... and make time for some fun and quality time with your pets. ; )

Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly
