How is everyone's day going....only Glad Game responses please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

I don't think you'll have trouble sipping after you have surgery.  That is one thing that you'll only do ONCE!  You'll learn very quickly that you can't chug!

Me, I'm also having a hard time getting my fluids in because I'm sick of it ALL!!  Nothing tastes good at this point.  I'm tired of Propel, Crystal Light, plain water, chicken broth, EVERYTHING!

I have no idea how I'm going to make it another 9 days!

So far, today I've had about 16 to 18 oz of decaf tea and half a bottle of water with propel in it.  I took a few sips of low carb FUZE too.  I plan on at least finishing this propel water and my bottle of fuze and probably having a cup of broth a little later also.

UGH...  Just thinking about it all makes me ill.

Sorry, Dot that you are having so much trouble. To bad we can't stick vodka or something in it! lol I don't even drink!! lol Maybe if you make a veggie broth. Are you doing Jello? Sweetie, You will make it! cut your head off a pic and put it on a good body and look at it every freakin day!!! You take care and hang in there....Stay busy that will help. One issue is that you had this done when the olympics are taking over the TV!! Boring!!!!!!!!!!! Love ya   Sherry

No, I have not done jello yet.  I should go do that right now.  I bought some in preparation, but have been too lazy to make it so far!  I also have some popcicles that I bought and haven't had.

As for vodka...  I already have one form of that to take it's called LIQUID LORTAB!!  ICK!

I'm not in so much pain that I wish to subject myself to that yucky stuff!  lol

OK...  I"m off to make me some jello.

For whatever reason, the second week of liquids is much easier than the first, but then again, I never want to see jello again! I struggle every day with getting my liquids in, especially having to wait an hour after eating. I can take bigger drinks now, but I have NEVER been a liquid drinker. If I am not holding a drink in my hand I don't think to drink.

Well, it's easy to sip after surgery because your tummy won't allow you to do anything else!  It really doesn't like chugging!

Sipping 101?  It's a good idea but I don't think they offer it anywhere!  LOL!

I'm having a great Sunday too!  And the laundry is done!!!

I actually read a post somewhere on how to sip-you put the liquid in your mouth, breath all the air out your nose, and swallow.  Supposed to cut down on gas.

I am at 34 oz. so far of water.  I will be starting my next 16 oz. right now.  I am keeping up since I feel better.  It is amazing how much better everything is when the fever and nausea are gone.

I am LOVING the Olympics!

Oh, back to the question at hand.  I am not doing as well today with liquids as usual.  I am not sure why.

Your tiny tummy will teach you, probably painfully, how much and how often it wants liquids.  There is a pretty steep learning curve after surgery.  Tiny tummy rules the roost.  Even at 3 months post op the tummy rules the body!

I lived on Jello, broth, and popsicles after surgery.  Dot, the second week of liquids is much easier than the first week.  I think your body just gives up any hopes of getting anything better and settles down.

Happy Sunday all!

I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

I have learned to really like decaf coffee.  I've been drinking it in the afternoons when I've lost interest in water and it helps.  Somehow, warm liquids have been easier for me to drink in quantity post-op.

And I'm the gal that didn't start drinking coffee until I turned 40!  See?  An "old dog" can learn new tricks.  (ok, I'm not really an old dog but I couldn't think of anything else clever here!)
