Realize vs. Lap Band

I had surgery on Thursday .  When I asked him about band size on Friday, I found out that my dr. used the Realize band instead of the Lap Band.

Anyone know the differences between the 2?

Thanks,
Lori

I don't know the difference...  But, I do know that the surgeons at Surgical Associates have also switched to the realize band.

The only thing I know is that it is manufactured by a different company and you will get access to a cool online resource to track your weightloss and such.  Sounds kinda neat!

If I remember right, the nurse at the Surg Assoc meeting said that there wasn't really a difference between the two at all.

I looked at their website. From what I could tell it looks like the difference in Reebok and Nike...in other words two different brands, same design, same end result.  Welcome to the bench by the way.

From what I've noticed of the Realize Band, it has a neat website.  Otherwise, it is very similar to the lap band.  Welcome to the loser's bench, by the way!!

I would trust the doctor-when we start researching brand names for spare body parts, that's going a bit far (IMHO).
