test results
Ok so today I got a call from the doctors office telling me they needed a couple more tests and for me to start some vitamins... I was like ok well Im sure its nothing much Im only 22... Well as I expected I have to take iron and B50, ok thats not so bad right... Well the 2 tests they need are an ultra sound of my gallbladder because my liver levels were knocked out of the sky high... the next test is a heart scan my blood tests for heart disease were not so good apparently the level is supposed to be under 1 and mine was 7... which means that I will prolly have heart disease in the near future iif I dont have this surgery.. I wanted to cry so bad when I heard all the test results I mean seriously 22 years old this should not be happening to me... Ok sorry everyone I just needed to vent a little>I am very very mad at my self for letting myself get sooo bad I mean I have always known I have bad health but not this bad....

It's okay to feel scared and upset. I know at 32 I was devasted to find out my health problems were much worse than they were, I can only imagine how that feels at 22. And you can stop blaming yourself because that won't help you any. Besides, it's because of your actions and dicisions that you are planning on having WLS to get healthier! Use this scare to motivate you to get all of your testing completely done and follow the directions your doctor gives you to the letter. Then have your surgery, and I'm sure you will reap the benefits of getting healthier that almost everyone has had. I'm praying for you! Just think of the long life you have ahead of you after you finish this chapter of your life. Diana

At least you didn't wait untill your 40's to start pursuing this, sweetie. You're young, and you've made a decision that is going to have lasting lifelong benefits for you. A full, happy and active healthy life await you on this loser's bench. Let this scare make you even more determined for your surgery. It is scary to find out you have health problems. I didn't know I had mine until the pre-op tests showed. However, we caught them in time and that's the point. You've caught yours early enough that it can be fixed.
You are young enough to bounce back once they get the right diagnosis. Gallbladder disease is not uncommon in folks that have dieted and lost weight. I am assuming that sugery is not your first attempt to lose weight. I had to get my gallbladder removed after losing 40 pounds on a low fat diet. The good news is that if your gallbladder is bad they can probably take it out dueing your WLS. As for the heart stuff- better to find it now than have problems on the operating table. Do I remember you chose Dr. Gornicec? He is really smart and will take good car of you. Keep posting when you need some support.
