Before surgery I am sure that many of us wasnt the go getters that we are or will become after losing the excess weight. So post-opers..... was you a home body before? and now since surgery are you out doing more and enjoying the things in life?  What is the new thing or things that you now do daily/weekly/etc on your itenary? For the pre-opers.... are you a home body? if so what is it that you are looking forward to adding to your daily/weekly/etc itenery?

Before surgery, I was a home body.  I came home from work, cooked dinner and then parked it in front of the t.v. all night.  On weekends, I cleaned and shopped and watched t.v.  The only exercise I got was mowing the lawn or weeding the flower beds.  With the weight loss, I am actually enjoying the yard work rather than dreading it.  I think I will always be a homebody in many ways...but I ride my bike, I started the Southside walking group (which is something I would NEVER have done before!)  I have been going to the OH get togethers lately.  When we get my car paid off or some of these medical bills paid off, I am seriously thinking of taking dancin lessons.  When I was a girl and no one was around I would pretend to be a ballerina.  I would make up dances and leap around the living room.  I was not 6, I was more like 14!!!  I dont want to be a ballerina but I'd love to learn ballroom dancing.  I'd like to be able to jog someday.  That would be amazing!

I have ALWAYS been a homebody with a tendency to become a hermit at times. I am both a homebody AND out in the world enjoying life...it's just enjoying life in a body that doesn't hurt anymore and it means I can walk and keep up with DH and not be winded. It means I can get in and out of my son's Camaro without having to roll in and out.

Hmmm...new things on the itinerary...Tupperware and Mary Kay sales...vitamins..and going to thrift stores weekly or monthly depending..

I had foot reconstruction surgery in February before my July Lap Band.  I was barely able to walk when I moved to OKC in June.  So I was in a homebody phase.  Before moving to OKC my job for the past few years had me out on the road a lot, so staying home was kind of a treat.

This year I've taken care of my own lawn, pruning etc.  I've started riding bikes again.  Bought a motorcycle.  What's funny is that I've only been to the ocean in a bathing suit once since surgery-and that was like a month out.  I want to learn to scuba dive, but I'm still not ready to put on a wet suit-honestly I'd rather be nekkid than wear a wet suit.

Before my foot cratered, I was training in dog agility and with my weightloss, new orthotics, etc. I am beginning to hope that I might take that up again.  I only have one dog sound enough to do agility but as luck would have it, he's outgoing and very biddable....so maybe.

Well, I'm a post-oper...  I don't think I was really a homebody before the surgery, but I had lower self-esteem before and didn't like being stared at in public.  I enjoy doing things in the public eye more now.  Now I definitely enjoy shopping a lot more... It's my favorite thing the the world... It's certainly a weekly thing that I go at least window shop at the mall because before I was limited to a few stores and now I can go anywhere!

When I was at my heaviest, all I did was go to work, pick up some fast food after work and come home and eat and watch TV.  On the weekend, I went to the grocery store and came home exhausted.  Now that I've lost a whole adult, I'm enjoying life so much more.  My aunt and uncle lost their home to a tornado on May 10.  I was able to help them salvage what didn't get blown away.  They got a new modular home and last weekend I helped clean it and get their new furniture moved in.  I wouldn't have been able to do all that before I lost all the weight.  A couple of weeks ago, my sister and her two daughters and granddaughter came to Tulsa for a doctor's appointment for my great niece.  After the appointment, we went to lunch and went shopping at Woodland Hills.  My sister is a marathon shopper and I was able to keep up with her.  I enjoy spending time with my sister so much.  We're making up lost time for all the years we've been so far apart.
