I was going to a doctor in Vinita because that is who soonercare gave me to go to. Many of you may remember I was not real happy with the delay in them submitting my paperwork for surgery.. They didnt get it submitted til after I had lost my soonercare, so now i am selfpay, and now that i am self pay I have decided to go back to dr Tucker in Gravette Ark. I had an appt yesterday! Its a long way to drive (about 2hrs) but well worth the drive to have a good caring doctor with a nice staff. He upped my water pills because I am retaining alot of water, he refilled my meds for depression (main reason for going) and he gave me samples of meds I need but cant afford. he is such an awsome guy. We discussed some issues I am having and came up with a plan to help ease the pain without pain meds. its so nice to have a doctor that listens and wants to help without out throwing more pills at you. One of the main things he did to make me feel better is reasure me that the pills I take are for survival and not just to treat symtoms. Dr Tucker has been awsome at incouraging me to get this surgery done. He again reassured me that it is the right and only option for me. I did step back yesterday and look at how i have been eating lately. and I had went back to my old habits. Yesterday I did alot better and stopped the dang snacking. I am going to work on it from now on. I have to learn to eat for fuel and not from  habit. I am a snacker. alot of times I dont eat meals i just snack through the day. I got to stop that! Ok enough rambling... I just wanted to let ya all know that I am back on my crazy pills so my kids are no longer in danger of being choked!

Good for you girlfriend!  There are a lot of very good docs out there but there are also those who I believe do NOT have our best intentions at heart.  I'm glad you hooked back up with your good one who cares.  I also referred to them as "crazy pills" but they were no different for me than my insulin or blood pressure medicine.  I truely believe that some of us have an imbalance it that medication is needed.  I can honestly say now that I have had WLS and gotten off my insulin, blood pressure medications and others I have also gotten rid of my anti-depressants.  My weight was such an issue in every aspect of my life.  I didn't like myself for a very long time.  Take care of yourself and hopefully WLS will be in your near future!!!  Debbie

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

Good for you.  A caring doc that listens is key to good medical care.  Hopefully you will feel better soon. Denise

I'm so glad you're back with a physician that listens and that is taking good care of you! I'll be praying for your surgery and for you to be content and making healthy food choices until then.
Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

Sherrie, a doctor who cares makes all the difference sometimes.

Now for the lecture of the day.  ****hugs**** I sat on my butt for about 3 months in terrible pain because I didn't want to take Celebrex cause that's an old lady drug....Finally went to the doctor, got some celebrex and some inserts for m shoes...and guess what, the only thing that changed was my pain went away and I'm able to do a lot more.  I'm just aaying that sometimes we think "if I have to take X.....that must mean I'm Y" and it does mean that you HAVE Y, not that you ARE Y."

We could wrap ourselves up in cartons like eggs and never get out and see the world, or we can patch ourselves up as needed and get out and see what's goin on.

Please get in that pool as much as you safely can-it's going to help with pain, depression and weight loss.
