sucking on a lime
before surgery if my tummy was upset i could suck on a lime and feel much better. i have tried this same remedy a couple of times since surgery with no problems. will this hurt my pouch in the long run and should i stop it? if it is gonna hurt my pouch i am stopping. it doesn't make me feel bad or anything and it does calm my tummy. any advice?
I can't see any reason that this would hurt your tummy unless you are swallowing the pulp or rind. Maybe Rita will chime in. If you still have questions tomorrow call Weight Wise and ask.
If it makes you feel any better eggs got me this morning. I have successfully eaten eggs since I was allowed with not problems. This morning the banana said NO! Always something new to lern about this new tummy.

OMG soooo nice to see someone else loves limes here.... i asked the question already and I got the answer like this:
Your surgery leaves a lot of tender areas and some of those areas carry a titanium staple (one hundred and nine to be exact) and until you're out for 6 weeks, don't attempt toeat these highly acidic fruits...
So i said dammit...and thank you...and went along my merry way... So I've still got 3 more weeks until i can enjoy another lime.... at least by the time that I can have them I'll be just about to fly home and pick them off my trees....hehehehe

I am 3 months out and I am so glad I can suck on limes and lemons again cause I am just like you both. I have actually found a way to drink cherry limeades again which is awesome. I loved them at Sonic. Just in case anyone else wants to know.
1 bottle (16.9 oz) of water mixed with your favorite SF cherry flavored mix (I love cherry Kool-Aid for this.
2 medium limes (you could probably use lime juice too if ya wanted to do this easier)
3-4 packets of Splenda or other sweetener.
Yeah it tastes a bit different than your traditional cherry limeade due to not having Sprite on Sierra Mist in it but I like them.
They are pretty acidic. I personally wouldn't do it until your 6 week mark. However, you could give Jess a call and ask her. As I recall though, they are not on your list of acceptable foods. If you must do it, use moderation. I had a patient that only pickle juice would calm her tummy. She was further out than you are though. Best of luck.
