Breakfast?

Howdy!  Personally, I could never get an egg down early in the am...it is a texture thang with me.  For breakfast, I usually have a piece of salmon with cottage cheese or some chicken breast with cheese melted atop it, doused in hot sauce.  Sometimes, I will have a piece of turkey ham, turkey sausage, or turkey bacon (I am seeing a turkey trend here, lol)  Every once in a while, if I am craving something bread-like, I will spray a lil Pam into a skillet, crisp up a low-carb tortilla, spread a lil peanut butter or cream cheese on it, and top it with a bit of fresh fruit. Also, even if you are not a big fan of scrambled eggs, have you considered maybe doing a low fat, crustless quiche, filled with eggs, cheese, veggies, and such?  After cooking, you could slice it up into your portion size, and freeze it.  Quiche actually reheats fairly well from frozen when microwaved. Another option is to get out of "breakfast for breakfast" mode.  No one ever said that you had to have eggs or breakfasty foods in the morning...eat what you want (on your approved diet, of course), not just because of what time of day it is, ya know? ETA that if you are not a big breakfast person, but want to get something into your system, have you tried a lil protein powder in your morning coffee??  Optimum Nutrition brand is AWESOME, and I *hate* protein powders, lol.  Their cookies and cream, chocolate mint, and rocky road flavors ROCK in coffee...just mix it with a lil milk or creamer first before adding hot liquids, and it won't clump.

Those are all fabulous idea!  I hadn't thought of the coffee thing.  I try to give that a shot!  Thanks so much for the input!

Breakfast for me is not necessarily breakfast food  -I can't really eat until about 9:00-9:30 a.m. because my stomach does not like that! Sometimes I have a protein bar, if I want eggs, I make them into egg salad (somehow they go down better that just boiled); I also have dinner leftovers for breakfast, I am not a fan of any kind of cheese, but I do have refried beans (or pinto beans) with 1/2 slice of melted cheese on top - I just don't like to eat cheese as a meal. Cottage cheese went out the window the day I was off mushies! So there, I was of no help at all, but I just wanted to point out that ever since I have been off carbs, breakfast is not really breakfast food anymore, but whatever protein I feel like having -

Another breakfast confession-If I have to cook the egg, I don't want it-case in point, I made eggs for my dogs today cause I felt like being nice, but I had a protein bar....

but if someone else will cook the egg-I'll eat it every time.

But, that's only in the morning-I eat eggs a lot for lunch and dinner, no problemo.  I'm not only lazy, I'm just downright weird.

Hang in there girlie!  The mushies will be here soon and then you will be the happiest gal ever!  It is much easier once you can eat again.  I counted almost every minute until then!

Promise, cross my heart, it will get here!  Then this 2 week period will all be like a bad dream.  You will look back and laugh.  But not today!  I'll be hoping and wishing that the time goes quickly!
