Do you who have RNY ever wish you had the sleeve, and vice versa??
My research from the beginning in 2001 (3 years prior to my WLS) led me to the RNY. I was scared of the surgery at that time, granted, but my curiousity was definitely there. My research always brought me right back to the RNY and in 2004, I went to my PCP about it. Shortly, thereafter, everything fell into place. I felt well aware of what to expect with the surgery. I know a lot of my friends are more interested in the lap-band, I don't know a lot about the sleeve (though it sounds very interesting). I think each person has to do what they best feel is tailored to them and I have been a good fit with my RNY after over 160 lbs of weight loss to date and a lot of co-morbidities and medications gone forever.

My choice was alot easier. $$$$$ Since I was a cash pay the cost difference b/w the two was a no brainer. Also, my mom had RNY 5 years ago and had complications that docs didnt know where afflicated with the surgery. I didn't want to go through any of that. I also didnt need to lose a lot of weight. Right at 100#'s. When I went to ed. sem I was determined that I would have the band, then I heard of the sleeve and that sealed the deal for me and the rest is history.
