How long did you take off work after surgery?? I was originally gonna just take the 2 weeks off but seeings as the first week was the week of surgery and this week I have felt like Poop, I think I am gonna wait another week and see how I feel.  I do have an office job but once I go back I will be working 10 hours days til I get caught back up.  Thats ok, I just want to feel ok when I do so.

It is never a bad idea to take off more time if you can.  I've often wondered how people work and still keep up with all the eating and sipping you have to do when you are newly post-op.  There is NO WAY possible I could have done that if I still had my last job!

I was off only 9 days and I work three 12 hour shifts in a row. It wasn't too bad.

I took two weeks off.  I work Mon - Thursday 10 hour days.  It wasn't bad.  No pain, just took my little sippy stuff to work with me.

Dr. Walton has a favorite saying when this question is asked - "The time suggested is in direct proportion to the amount of vacation time you have available.."  If you have 2 weeks, take it.  If you have 3 or 4 take it.  You'll be better off if you do not have to run back to work.  I was ready at 8 days and at day 16 I had a stricture and ulcer.  So who knows!!  Some people just heal faster!! Lucky for me I wasnt working at the time of surgery but I was in school.  I had surgery on a Tuesday, got out of the hospital on Thursday and was back in class on Monday.  I will not lie though, it was a little uncomfortable to be sitting in those hard chairs for 4 hours.... other than that i was great.  I actually felt that the recovery from this was alot better and quicker than my recovery was when i had a c-section and back then i was only 19 and in better shape.

I have a desk job too, but I was off from 11/26 to 12/20 and was sore from sitting the first couple of days. Almost 4 weeks.  Took awhile before I didn't feel exhausted at end of each day.  Of course, I am older so that could have something to do with it.
