I am freezing and don't know why

Yea, I know, duh.  It's cold outside.  BUT I'm never cold.  My heat is on at 73.  I'm wearing long pants, socks/shoes, 2 shirts, my belly binder, and still I'm cold.  Lastnight DH had to throw another blanket over me to stop my chattering.  He said I went right to sleep after that.  I have no idea.  I was beyond tired.  We had gone to Walmart after putting the littlest ones to bed and walked for an hour and a half.  It was pretty darn cold then and it seems like I still haven't warmed up entirely. Any suggestions?

I've heard that we use all our calories just for our survival.  I am almost always cold now and NEVER had been a cold person before.  Another possibility could be anemia.  I wasn't anemic the last time I had blood work, but who knows now with how our GI system is rerouted.  I am going back to my PCP in February and she will check then.  Until then, I wear sweats to bed and lots of blankies! wow, I cant wait to be on the losing side and cold.. I have been having alot of hot flashes lately... I thought I was all done with menapause but seems not!.. I think my hormone needs ajusted again! I will talk to the doctor tomorrow.. if I dont cool down soon I am afraid my bp will shoot up again!

Since surgery I freeze all the time too. This has been the first time in my life I have had to sleep with an electric blanket. I never had my heat turned up before now I cannot turn it up enough.  Tressa

I am glad to see someone ask about this.  I have been warm natured my whole life.  Even when I was fit and in shape at around 200 lbs back in high school I would still go outside in shorts and a tee shirt in the snow.  My summer air conditioning bill is always high due to me having to have it so cold so I dont burn up.  I will welcome being chili if it happens to me thats for sure.

Oh yeah,  I'm cold all the time also.  I told my husband a few days ago that I don't think I'm going to handle the winter very well this year.  I used to be hot all the time and now I'm cold.   I told him it's because I'm shedding my winter coat. 

Lower calories and I think lower fat intake as well.  I've started eating full on yogurt again just to get a little fat in my diet. (goat yogurt).
