I am currently 9 days out and I feel really really good..besides a little pain in my left side...and 8lbs. down...not that much but it is going down..lol...anyways.. I'm really glad to have joined this forum and hope that I can gain support as well as giving support to anyone out there..:)

Welcome to OH . Did you have open Rny? I am 19 days out. Have you got sick from anything yet? I got sick twice. once was when I ate wheat crackers and humus. I got a major pain in my chest with prsuure felt like a heart attack. I laid down and it went away in about 15min. The othert time is when I had mashed potatoes I had majgor stomach cramps and the runsand felt like I had to vomit at the same time it was not pleasent. I am having a hard time getting in all my water. Email me if you have any questions. Sheila

Thanks Sheila! ...I actually didnt have RNY just regular lap band...i believe..lol  But yeah I got sick once which happened on thursday..I ate a cracker and I guess I didnt chew it all the way through..I wasnt really paying attention like I usually do and it got stuck in my chest...it was horrible..but i didnt vomit, i just drank some water to wa**** down and then I was fine..but otherwise Ive been really lucky that was the only time... Im having a difficult time with the water as well...only because they say you cant drink about an hour after eating and that only gives me an hour and a half to fit in water just 6 times a day and sometimes it hurts to drink water on an empty stomach...i dunno maybe its just me...all i know is that im getting in the protein :-P

I have a post-op appt on Monday, so not letting myself on the scales till then. 8# sounds pretty darned awesome to me!!! That's almost a pound a day!!! Congratulations!

Hi,I'm 7 months out and my advice to you would be do as your doctor suggests.Eat what you are told.I followed everything to the tee and I eat everything now without any problems.I have stopped all sweets and carbonated beverages. The weight falls off.If your weight loss stalls for a while,it's only your body catching up and figuring out whats going on.The weight will continue  to drop.Remember to get your fluids in !!! Best of luck , Bob

Hi and Welcome....Just a hint...don't become a slave to the scale...I had the same problem and it is such a roller coaster the first few weeks.  I hit a couple of plateaus and was upset.  But, this site has really helped me with all my questions and worries...the folks here are just wonderful.   Good Luck...the journey is actually fun... I had RNY 9 days ago- my post op visit yesterday had me down 22 pounds.. it blew my mind. Other than this pain in my left side, which of course was mild yesterday's at the dr's, and is excruciating today. I am doing ok.. getting the protein in is tough.. these shakes are awful. but I have progressed onto puree foods- so looking forward to tuna lunch!
