I am home today
Hi Sheila!
I am so sorry you are in pain
just think that you are through the worst of it (so I am told). I am having Open RNY as well and am really nervous about the pain factor. My surgeon told me I should be able to go back to work after one week!
I hope you start feeling better soon and big hugs (gentle ones)!

Sheila, Debi's right--I asked for Lortab right away because I didn't want to deal w/pills. Sometimes a pharmacy will have to order it for you, but they can always get it, usually the same day. I use a small local pharmacy, I find they are much more accomodating than the chains. My starting dose was 15cc (1T, but when they upped it to 30cc I helped a lot.) Then when I started feeling better, I lowered it by tsps.
Take care,
Take care,
Welcome home Sheila.
Sorry you are in so much pain.
I was uncomfortable for about a week after surgery. I had open RNY also. I found that walking helped a little with the pain. I didn't feel as stiff. I did have a problem finding a comfortable position to sleep in. It will get better, I promise. Keep resting and keep sipping and before you know it you will be pain-free.
