I plan to use one of them and I'd like to know what your experience with them and their office staff has been.

I hear they're the BEST in the field!!!  I go to a surgeon in Syracuse.  The nurse mentioned Christine's name!!!  I believe they're partners/spouses.  Great choice!!!!!!

Good Luck!

Yup, they're professional partners AND spouses!  (They met while practicing together and then got married.)  Dr. Fielding I hear is the leading lap band surgeon, and HE'S HAD THE SURGERY HIMSELF!  Talk about compassion and knowing how to live with a band!  I'm so grateful I am near to his practice.  So far so good with his office (though I have been put on hold for lengthy periods sometimes but I chalk that up to being very very busy given their reputations).  How are you doing so far with your band?

Awesome info!

I'm doing so incredible I can't stand it...LOL  Read through my profile.  I wasn't sure about how to blog, so everything runs on, newest update first.  Ask me anything you'd like!  I LOVE LIFE WITH MY LAPBAND!  I found out yesterday I can still dive in the sand for a volleyball!!

I'm being banded by Dr. Fielding tomorrow, July 5th!  Dr. Ren conducted the information seminar that I attended and she was amazing.  He is also.  Their office staff has been excellent and very responsive.  I highly, highly recommend both of them.

I saw them in my search for a doctor , needless to say I did not have my surgery with them. I felt I was being pushed and pressured into the lapband. Funny thing is with PCOS (which I have) the lapband is/was NOT the best option. I was NOT at all impressed by their staff, I was told my insurance would make me wait 6 to 9 months and that I would have to pay 1/2 of the expense out of pocket, in addition to having to use their own NUT and psychatrist. Needless to say I RAN AWAY from them as fast as I could. JMHO ALL THE BEST

Hello. Both DH and I were banded by Dr. Fielding - me on 6/4, DH on 6/18.  Dr. Fielding is very good and has been a leading surgeon in developing a number of the surgical procedures that are currently used today.  You could not ask for a better and experienced surgeon.   They've added Dr. Kurian to their office - she is also very well-known and respected. As to the office -- I had some difficulty working my through the office - mostly due to volume of folks I think.  The office is very nice and I am working with them from up north so it involves more scheduling.  I dealt a lot with email which worked out great.  All in all, a good experience.  I had a good hospital experience - DH not so much mostly due to lack of beds.

My profile is private to keep it "un-Googlable."  I will happily add you to my friend list.

I attended a seminar given by Dr. Ren, she was very informative.  But, they were totally pro lapband, so it was very one-sided.  Also you have to use their psychiatrist and nutritionist, and your vonsut with the surgeon is the last step in the whole process.  A) I want the best surgery for me. B)  My insurance pays for these visits, so I did not wanrt to pay to see theis doctors only, and finally, I need to meet the surgeon before I move along in the process.  I need to know is he/she the one for me.  Its just my opinion.  Good Luck!

I am planning on having my surgery with Dr. Ren.  They did not push me to do LapBand at all.  Dr. Ren did ask my reasons for wanting RNY, and I guess she figured out that I did my homework and based my decision on that information.  She never tried to steer me in a different direction. As for dealing with the staff, it is a little bit frustrating.  While they are very nice, they are not good at returning phone calls and the surgical coordinator is extremely hard to contact.
