Single mother

Is anyone here a single mother?  I'm not sure what to do when and if my surgery is scheduled.  I don't have any family here to watch her while i'm in surgery except my good neighbor.  I'm sure i'll have to say overnight.  I'm worried about when i get back home and will have no energy or strength to take care of a 3 yr old.  Any suggestions?  I'm guessing everyone is different, but I want to be able to get back on my feet not too long after.  I'll take off 2 weeks disability maybe and send my baby to daycare or rather walk her to daycare every morning. Is this doable?

I would call ACS and find out about certified day care providers.  They may have lists.  Sometimes they will watch children over night.  They might also have respite homes that could help you out.  Good luck, sweetie!

hey cheri , she's already in acs daycare.  The provider doesn't do overnight.  In fact she's the one *****ferred me to wls.  She had lap band done 6/12 so we will have the same surgeon.  I'm going to try my neighbor who is my back up.  It's just i'm afraid of not having enough energy to watch her after I come from the hospital.  How did you do after surgery when you got home that day?
