Gallbladder Removal

I did not require any ultrasounds or endoscopies prior to surgery.  My surgeon did find my gallbladder to be very thick and full of stones when I had my RNY done so he removed it at tht time.  He told me had he not removed it I would have become very ill post-operatively.    I never had any symptoms of gallbladder disease.  I am glad he was able to discover it while he had me opened up so I didn't need to have a second surgery.    My daughter who is 20 had the same surgery and she had no problems what so ever with her gallbladder.  It was healthy and so it was left in place during her surgical procedure.
