Hey there. Well, I joined a gym during my weightloss journey so I'm lucky to still have that membership because it makes me want to go work out. Anyways, I'm 6 weeks post op and since 4 weeks post, I have been hitting the gym 5 days a week. My routine consist of: Monday: 20-30 mins on treadmill, chest workout (heavy weights), 20 mins on treadmill Tuesday: 20-30 mins on treadmill, triceps & biceps(heavy), 20 mins on treadmill Wednesday: 20-30 mins on treadmill, shoulders(heavy), 20 mins treadmill Thursday: 30 mins on treadmill, back(heavy), 30 mins on treadmill Friday: 20-30 mins on treadmill, chest & shoulders (low weight, high reps), 20 mins treadmill Saturday & Sunday: Elliptical @ home 20 mins a day Every person is different. I guess it depends on how much you've excersized before you had surgery. I know you said you're on a limited income, but where I go, Planet Fitness, its $19.99 a month. Not a bad place but there's no pool or track, which is ok with me.  You can look here for some info: http://exercise.about.com/od/weightloss/a/obese_exercise.htm http://exercise.about.com/od/weightloss/a/obese_strength.htm http://exercise.about.com/cs/exerciseworkouts/l/blobeseexerc ise.htm Hope that helps. ~ying~
