What were your diet restrictions one week before surgery?

 Two more days before surgery.  What were your restrictions one week before surgery?  The only thing I miss are my vitamins.  I have been having my protein shakes like my MD. suggested and they go down fine.     I am a little nervous and will be going out to Walmart to kill some time today. I want to get some more Crystal lite flavores and look for some more cotton PJ.s.  I'll check back in later.    I will be updating my page with before surgery pics and measurments.  Lori L

I'm one of the lucky ones, I only have to do clear liquids the day before.

No multivitamins, but I specifically asked if i can take vit. c, cause I was worried about catching a cold before surgery. Got the o.k. for that.

No restrictions for me!!  I was able to eat until midnight the night before, but stopped at my normal dinner time!

I am currently pre-op, but I will have to do a 2 week liquid diet prior to surgery.  Around 1200 calories per day.  That will be 5 SlimFast Optima and 2 cups of veggies per day.  So not completey liquid, but close enough.  Good thing for me I like veggies.

Hi Our restrictions was............... Two days before surgery................. For eg......... If you are operated on Monday, Saturday would be creamed soups, fello iced pops etc. No solid foods. Then on Sunday would be clearliquids only and nothing after midnight. It helped to clean out your stomach and intestines.

I had absolutely no restrictions before surgery except the day before.  Had to stay on clear liquids and do a bowel prep the day before. Good luck and we'll all be praying for you. Joanne 

I was on a 2 week liquid fast before surgery...I could do protein shakes and veggies, lol  After was liquids...and thinner liquids then smooth stuff.  Good luck hun!

I could only have clear liquid the two days prior to surgery.    The less (poop ...sorry) you have in your sytem the better because the morphine can make you very constpated and they wont let you go home till you( poop...sorry )
