Surgery Consult Today Went Well

I had my first consult with Dr. Kim at Upsate Bariatric Center in Syracuse.  Wow.  It was great!  I really liked Dr. Kim...he's personable and he seems very competent.   Plus I found out that because they are Center of Excellence my insurance does NOT require a 6-month medically supervised diet!  Wooo hooo!  Of course we'll see what happens when the paperwork is submitted.   They gave me a list of blood tests I need and a stress test as well.  I have an appointment with my PCP on June 27.  Man oh man...aren't there enough doctor's in the world?  Why does it take so long to get an appointment?  Speaking of appointments...the next one I could get at Upstate was August 1st because of doctor and nurse vacations!!  I guess I want them to be happy and well rested, right!?  I went to a support group the other night and found it very informative...the guest speaker was a plastic surgeon.  I'm looking forward to support group meetings where I can here from real folks too!   I'm getting really excited...I'm on my way!!  Thanks for telling me back on May 7 that the time would fly...it did...let's hope it keeps up.

Hi, This is your begining of a new life. The time will go by very fast until aug. In the mean time you can use this time to start finding protein drinks you like, quitting drinking pop,practice chewing your food very well, start taking vtiamins,not drinking whlie eating. I wish you luck in your future wls surgery. Sheila

Sounds like you are on your way.  Believe me the time is still gonna fly.  You will be so busy with appts and stuff.  Keep us posted!!
