Good Morning All, I am one week post op today.  I was feeling Great, holding everything down...64 oz liquids and btwn 60 and 75 grams of protein and walking and walking (maybe too much??).... till about 2 days ago.  Now I find myself in a sweat after moving more than the usual "puttering around my apt" AND I am VERY uncomfortable upon laying down.  I have tried laying on my back and on both sides (which wasnt an issue till 2 days ago) along with using a heating pad.  I feel pain both in my upper and lower abdominal area...It's making me worry........Perhaps I am overdoing the walking??  And yesterday I burped all afternoon and evening.  I thought  I had broken up and gotten rid of the air that they filled my stomach with a few days ago  as I had really felt good moving around.  I am not in severe pain so I havent called the dr but it is noticeably getting worse as I try to do more moving.  Am I not resting enough???  Shouldnt I be up and out and about???  Yesterday I went to the bank then to K-Mart for a quick minute then to Shoprite for some meds.  I was wiped out and was sore the rest of the day....including bedtime where I was soooo sore and couldnt fall asleep for sometime.  Is this a normal reaction if you are doing too much???  Help!!! I need you opinions!! Thank you for listening to my long whine!!!!!!! Hugs to All Jane

Hi sweetie,

Very sorry to hear you're not feeling well.  I think I'd still be calling the doc's office.  I know my doc would want me to.  Even if it's a nurse you speak to!

Jane, Yeah calling the Dr office would be a great idea.... Our bodies when/going through some BIG changes and it take so much time to come around again. I know I can get so tired at times and I am 2 yrs out! Ask long as your eating right and doing the light walking that would be good.  Your body is saying WOW what are doing to me, starving me now?  it will try everything to get all that food back! Keep us posted hun

Howdy Neighbor! I'm over here by Woodbury Commons, so if you ever want to meet and go walking  you count me in! I'd call Sophia and see what she says, the odds are that it's still trapped anathestic but i'd want them to know about it.  Keep on walking it'll get the anathesia out of you faster then hit the couch for a nap.  What about a nice hot shower before bedtime to try and relax you? Best of luck to you. It's going to be a scorcher today make sure you are sip sip sipping. ANDI

Howdy neighbor.....as soon as I am up to walking a good distance count me in too!!!!!!  Ya know I worked part time up until about 2 months ago at Gasho in Central Valley.right down the road from the "Commons"!!  I cant access your profile..is it private?? Thanks to all you girls for good advise!!  I called and was told to just take it a bit easier....(Ya know I felt sooo good since surgery that I started taking short drives in my car 5 days after surgery)  This is my 8th surgery so I guess I feel like an old hand at surgery.  I am also extremely independent and HATE having anyone do anything for me....Maybe it's called being stubborn..I dunno?????       Thanks again all!! Hugs, Jane

I had really bad pains in my upper stomach.  My one incision is right under my breasts.  I asked my Dr. about the pain and he said it was so close to my rib cage and it would take time.  When I came home it took at least 5 days for it to feel better.  It hurt when I would take a deep breath or move.  I think they used my ribs as leverage for the scopes or something........lol.  Not bad enough to keep taking the prescription pain meds, just tylenol.   And I  used to get pooped easily too at first.  It all gets better, hang in there.  Listen to your body and rest when you need it!!

Hi Andi,, Thanks for asking.........I am feeling Much Better.  I slowed down a bit.  I am pretty sure I was just doing way too much!!!!    I stayed in the next day and only did a little bit of walking...just to recuperate....After resting for the day, I felt SOOOO much better........Now I am slowly getting back into the walking and moving around and stuff.  I live alone so if I need something I only depend on myself to go/do it!!!!  I do have wonderful neighbors who are always checking in on me and my kids, who live btwn 1 hour and 1/2 hour away are always checking on me too... But I hate asking anyone to go out of their way for me....Ya know I'm Miss Independent!!!! hehehehe Jane
